A unique & well-made device that's a must for anyone with a Thunderbolt-enabled tablet
I wasn't expecting this to look so small! This is just as big as it needs to be to provide all the ports it offers. And it offers a lot: SD & Micro-SD slots, two USB ports, another USB-C, Ethernet (1000 Mbps), HDMI & VGA - AND supports high-speed data transfer (10Gbps) and PD power supply throughput to the tablet at highest speed & volume (100 watts 20V/5A). This thing is a beast - a very small beast! It has another feature I value: it is the only hub of its type that doesn't have an attached short cable to connect to the tablet - you supply the connecting cable. That's an added expense, and USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cables (full throughput - not cheap partially but not fully compliant cables) are still expensive. Why would I want that?Thunderbolt 3 cables need to be as short as you can live with. Even short cables are pushing the technical capabilities of the standard: longer than one foot (30 cm) and you cut throughput & power delivery dramatically. Even the best 1 m cable delivers less than half the power & data delivery. The attached cables on competing hubs are all in the 3-4 in range: plenty short enough & fine for a laptop but too short for my tablet. If you have a Lenovo X1 tablet or it's biggest competitor the Microsoft Surface, the USB ports are all on the side of the monitor, the actual tablet, and not on the keyboard, which is a slim detachable peripheral. I'm guessing the Dell tablet is similarly configured. This means a 3" hub-attached cable can't quite reach the port to connect: keep in mind that Thunderbolt 3 cables are pretty stiff, too, and don't bend easily. And your patch cable, if it can reach far enough up to connect, is hanging off the side of the monitor, not lying at table surface-height. This leaves connected cables waving at right angles where they are in the way, it puts the tablet at risk of being dragged off the table by the cord, and it puts the connection port in the tablet at risk of being bent & broken by a pulled cable. Not good.I've paired CableCreation's multi-port adapter with their right-angle 90 degree adapters so their short 12" Thunderbolt 3 cable hangs down tight beside the screen. Where it's safe and out of the way. The cable is very stiff but long enough to curve around behind the tablet, so it's out of the way too.I love the tablet, but it only offers two Thunderbolt ports for connectivity. We still live in a multi-port world & that means dongle hell. The multi-port adapter is a one-stop solution that connects to pretty much anything. And supports charging or running off A/C in the background.Quality of construction is great: this thing is milled out of a single piece of aluminum. Ports are all solid. If feels light but strong. It's small enough to take with the tablet. I carry the tablet in a leather zippered portfolio that provides a pad of paper and still has room for the adapter, it's cable and the digital pen that came with the tablet. And a magazine or two.I'm happy to recommend anything made by CableCreation: I think you'll be pleased with design & quality. I now have this hub, several connection adapters and several cables. All appear to be the best-made peripheral devices I've purchased ever. I've purchased a lot of IT gear in the past 40 years; these are only peripherals and cables, but I always appreciate finding something really well-made. This stuff is.Delivery was prompt and reliable as I've come to expect from Amazon.

Solid little unit
Unit does pass 10gbps connected to an external NVME drive connected via USB 3.2. Good cabling on both ends is a must however, Cabling must support USB3.2 (10gbps) or TB3 (40gbps). Many USB C cables do not, especially at lengths beyond 6 inches. It's been in service for a couple of months so it has made it past the the likelihood of manufacturing defect failure. Only slight nit to pick is that MicroSDs insert pretty much to the point of being flush with the device. Need your fingernail to pop them back out.

Great for what it advertised
It works as advertised, however, be careful to put the cord that come with it in the correct usb (it is labelled, but I missed that the first time). If you put it into the wrong one, it won’t work (it doesn’t mean it is broken, just look for the writing). I especially like the cord is tucked into it because on others, the cord sticks out and wears down.

Only Works on PC
Hoping it would bridge both OS types, but only works on Windows PCs.

It works as a hub and card reader, but no 4k, and no support
I scoured Amazon for a hub with a removable cable because the ones with permanently attached cables aren't as compact and the cable eventually breaks. This one met all the criteria and looks well-made, but the video output would not exceed 1920x1080p even though it is advertised as 4k through HDMI. I went looking for support, and the device isn't even listed on the manufacturer's web site (search results show it, but all links to it give 404). Amazon support asked me if I read the manual (thanks for that - it doesn't even come with one) and then just refunded me without further troubleshooting. So, it is a hub with a card reader that has video output, but not as advertised. It gets two stars instead of one because it kind of works.

Doesn't support 4k/60Hz. Stay away.
I've been looking for a USB C hub with a detachable cable for a while. When I originally bought this, it stated 4K/60Hz. It does NOT do 4k/60Hz and has trouble displaying 4k/30Hz. Completely useless to me unless it can do 4k/60Hz. I wish I noticed sooner, I would have returned it.

For what it does,it was oversold
The ONLY thing special about this is the nook to store the VERY short included cable. After that, nothing special. For what it does, you are better off with a cheaper, smaller model. It has 1x hdmi and 1xVGA ports but you can only get one display out via either or both,it doesn't matter...same video/display screen. If you mirror, then it is just the one display as your laptop, if you extend, all you get is just one external display.Useless if you have a 2 monitor setup workspace. You get 2x USBA ports too and micro/full SD card. And this things get HOT! I had to put on a phones semiconductor cooling thingy to manage its heat ,lest it melts down during my day.
