Great sound well worth its price
This thing packs quite a punch as far as sound goes. Very loud and strong bass for its small size. The FM radio works well and sound great. The bluetooth also sound great and connects fast. It also plays USB and micro SD cards, plus has AUX input jack. All inputs are balanced so that no input is louder than the rest, which for some reason is rare with portable devices like this, and I much appreciate that. You can control everything from the buttons on top, and has a rotary volume control, which is also nice. My only criticism is that on SD/USB player you cannot search inside a track, and also know that it does not show the track name on the display it just shows a number (and I havn't yet figured out how the number corresponds to the tracks?). But I'm still giving it 5 stars because this thing rocks, sounds fantastic, rechargeable, a nearly perfect portable radio that can easily travel with you. Oh but do remember, it's not waterproof so don't get it wet.

It works so well, I bought two!
This little speaker has it all! Blue-tooth, SD card slot, radio, USB slot. It's quite powerful and has a clean sound, and I really like that it can play music off SD cards. It has a long battery life!

Perfect Sound; No Pairing with Other Speakers; Annoying Auto-Off
Love, love, love the sound on this small unit. The bass is at the perfect range where it doesn't hurt my inner ear, but I can feel it in my chest. So many modern speakers get this wrong.PLUSES:* AMAZING sound with perfect bass that cannot be topped. Comparable to a Sono Era 300 ($449) in quality.* Compact and portable.* Solid build quality you can feel in the controls and weight.NEGATIVES:* FM radio is not so great; feels tacked on. Just unnecessary.* I keep it plugged in and it shuts itself off continually on Bluetooth mode if it does not receive sound for more than a few minutes ... on AC power. The only way to turn it back on is to turn the volume knob all the way off and then back on. Which is beyond stupid and annoying. I have reached out to Avantree support about this and will update my review if I learn anything useful, but I checked the manual and see no option to change this setting.* Does NOT power off automatically when on Auxiliary mode and receiving sound via 3.5mm cable, but there is a lot of noise via this connection. I'm troubleshooting this presently.* Worst of all: it cannot be paired with additional Avantree speakers. This speaker's sound is so great I want to buy at least 3 more and pair them together. But Avantree won't let me give them all that money.

Rich sound, easy replacement
A good solid rich sound from this bluetooth unit allows me to enjoy music to a degree that the iPhone playing my music, cannot offer. I find myself carrying this radio/speaker into the kitchen or bathroom. The radio seems fine, too. The unit is heavy, no doubt due to magnets in the speakers (?). The handle is fixed, to prevent breaking the antenna. The battery lasts for days because I don't play it constantly. It recharges quickly. It's not going to win any beauty contests. The service is swift polite and no questions asked when I told them the bluetooth wasn't working. I soon had a new unit shipped free of charge or shipping, and a return label for sending back the old one in the same box. Very polite conversations with the charming and efficient Rosally at Avantree. All around I'm glad I chose this plain looking but top notch radio/speaker.

Very well constructed
I bought this for a friend. Using Bluetooth connection with a tablet meets her needs wonderfully. Good sound and easy set up. Radio also is good. Quite heavy

Decent player, but FM radio has a few issues
The sound is quite good (but not amazing). I think it sounds better at higher volumes- it can play very loud. The FM radio is a very welcome feature (it was the reason I bought this) but it has a few significant issues:The antenna is very short (18 inches), so reception is an issue. I tried to extend it with some speaker wire, but didn't have any luck. Furthermore, the fixed-in-place handle blocks the antenna from rotating towards the front of the speaker, making it harder to get reception. There is a volume knob, but it only attains a discrete set of levels. The lowest volume level (01) is way too loud. (The jump from 00 to 01 is much larger than jumping from 01 to 02, etc.) Consequently you can't listen to the radio quietly. I find this a pretty big design flaw. There are 9 presets for radio stations. But when you use them, there is a 5 second delay, i.e., the station doesn't change for 5 seconds. This isn't a deal-breaker, but it is certainly annoying.Bluetooth works very well, and because you can adjust the source volume, you CAN listen to bluetooth quietly, albeit with a possible minor loss in sound quality. There are three EQ settings. To my ears they are: (1) Big bass (the default); (2) High treble and very little bass; (3) Big bass (indistinguishable from (1)).Your EQ setting is not saved when you turn off the unit- it always turns on to setting (1).Overall I like this item, but don't love it, especially since my favorite FM station doesn't come in (it comes in fine on my stereo and in the car).
