***DO NOT LOST PLASTIC BATTERY-PULL-PLASTIC***OMRON are a HUGE Electrical Components Specialist Manufacturer (They make the parts/GUTS inside almost every single legit-made device & are HIGHLY Accurate/Precise especially for medical parts/devices..)BATTERY: CR20251. There is a plastic-clear "Pull-Tab" when you first get this, DO NOT LOSE IT....2. The current Battery Installed will almost be empty, so buy a new CR2025 sized battery, they come in packs of 5 in a blister-pack...3. Change Battery (you dont want these batteries leaking...)4. Unscrew Battery Compartment Screw5. Lose this Screw ! lol - You can use it for whatever else you need.. Just dont bother putting it back..- For each time when finished with the device, use a miniature sized flat head screwdriver or proper plastic leverage type tool for opening smartphones to remove battery, place "PULL-TAB" then replace battery- Replace Back cover (which keeps battery in, add tiny bit of blue-tak on 2 edges or just 1 edge of the battery cover to stick temporarily)- The cap protects the device while also keeping the battery back cover in-place, but just be aware that it could fall open (thankfully the battery WONT fall out, its got its-own-clip)This will give you a way to switch the device OFF...The instructions show a way, but it wont turn off, this is likely why its reduced price or a few other models have come out that actually dont glitch when its trying to be turned-off..Other than that ==--->>> its a very good temperature probe for foreheads and surface skin temperatures with a memory function of the last few scans...

This is a really good thermometer it stays on as it tells you the temperature of the room it is in all the time I noticed this as I leave it in my son's bedroom, I check my son's temperature before I go to bed and it is very accurate, it is great value for money has a good battery life as it still has the batteries in that it came with. I was very dubious about buying this after reading reviews but I'm so happy I didn't listen to them now and went ahead and brought it anyway as it's probably the best thermometer I have ever brought, I definitely recommend it.

Overall good thermometer, but few things to consider1. Keep it in the room which isn't cold or extremely hot. When you receive your thermometer it will need to settle down in the room temperature first before you can use it, otherwise the reading will be off.2. You can turn it off by pressing on/mem button until OFF shows on the screen although even when turned off it will shows the room temperature.3. Some people mentioned that when they tried to do multiple readings straight after first one, they got errors and had to wait several minutes which is not true. What you have to do after 1st reading is to press on on/mem once and then you can do another one again, and so on.I tested it against the Braun Thermoscan 7 and temperature is almost identical which gives me assurance of the quality.I purchased it as sometimes especially when child have an ear infection it's good to check temperature another way.

The Omron is a fantastic device that takes your temperature without even touching you with infra-red. I have no idea how it does this, but it appears accurate enough when comparing the ambient temperature measurement to other devices such as my digital reading wall clock. I put this in a slightly cooler box and the temperature reading did fall about 0.3 celsius vs the ambient room temperature. Hardly super scientific, but it met the expected ranges.The product looks friendly enough. It's a nice solid moulded piece of glossy plastic with a durable protective cap. The display is nice and large. Very readable. The fact there are only 2 buttons that do everything from changing settings and turning off the device mean that some functions and modes that a while to learn and the unit requires you to hold a button for over 5 seconds to turn off.Taking measurements is super easy. You simply hover the head of the device towards the item you want measured. I placed it close to my forehead and it beeped and displayed my measurement instantly. I'm sure you can do the same across a variety of things. Baby's milk temperature for instance is something the manual describes can be measured. Along with surfaces that I imagine have an even temperature throughout.Once turned off the unit functions as an ambient temperature sensor. This isn't something you can turn off without removing the batteries and should only use less battery than a digital LCD clock (my LCD clock with temperature lasts about 8 years+ on a new battery). Making it useful to just have around.

I choose this temp gauge because of the well known brand in the NHS tool kit.Only thing I'm disappointed with is the audio bleep. You really have to listen out for it.It's so very very quiet.Don't know if it's just mine, or others the same. Can't see the point in muting the bleep, because it's do difficult to hear anyway.Other than that, feels great,and accurate.
