So I can't lie...I chose this one because I saw a picture of a Westie in the ad. I have two Westie pups who were getting spayed and neutered at the same time and couldn't bear the thought of the plastic cone of shame. I was a tiny bit skeptical when I bought it. I tried it on one of my pups before the day of surgery. She hated it because she didn't understand why it was on her neck. I decided to take it with me to the vet anyway. I have to say that my 2, 6 month old, boy and girl, 10 lb Westies fit the small size perfectly. They look so darn cute with them on. They have both been extremely comfortable and have had no issues taking it off, trying to eat or drink, sleeping, or walking around. It has done a superb job of keeping them from licking their incisions!Update: I had to buy 2 extra ones because my girl dog popped the bladder in 2 of the donuts because they were left unattended for a period of time (home with hoomans around but not watching). She is pretty destructive for a pup. 4th time was a charm and we managed through 2 full weeks.

Purchased this because our senior dog was licking her back legs raw from anxiety and needed her skin to heal. We were nervous on buying traditional plastic cone because it makes her more anxious, but lo and behold the minute we put it on she fell asleep within a few minutes! It almost functions like a hurricane jacket for her anxiety while supporting her head to sleep, and stop her from licking. She’s about 25lbs and a size medium fits perfect, and the strap is adjustable. It’s easy to blow up and take on and off her. To keep clean longer, I take it off before walking her so that way she gets some time without the cone as well. She loves it, and looks so relaxed and hilariously adorable—we may not be able to take it off after her skin heals!

We recently adopted a senior dog who needed to be neutered before bringing him home from the shelter. He came home with a huge, plastic cone that was just terrible for him. I needed a solution that helped him recover in comfort, as well as adjust to his new home.This donut was a LIFESAVER.I struggled a *little* bit trying to initially inflate it, but that was because I couldn't figure out how to remove the second plug that made it easier for inflating. I think it was because I was so tired, that I wasn't thinking straight.So, once I got that under control, I didn't look back. Our pup adjusted to this so much easier than the cone. He used it as a little pillow most of the time. By day three, he didn't even put up a struggle to put it on; he just sat down and let me clip him in. I am so thankful this was recommended by the dog parents in my life. We've retired our donut for now, but if/when we have another patient in recovery, you can bet we will bring it back out (the same one because it's still in great shape after 8 days of doggie use)!

Seems comfortable, our dog is resting well after surgery. This is so much better than a cone - and has a softer surface than some of the others we tried. Wish the designer had put the valve in a more convenient place that won't touch the dog's skin, like put the valve on the flat area.

This is so much better than the cone of shame. My 7 lb girl was comfortable, able to sleep, able to eat and drink with no issues. She didn't have any issues with fieldof vision, no running into door jams like they do with the cone because the field of vision is not blocked. Nicely made, functions as it should, looks nice on, true to size, easy to blow up, and easy to store. Highly recommend for your babies comfort.

A more comfortable solution than the dreaded cone. My dog had a double surgery on her neck and groin, so this was the solution as it didn't aggravate her neck stitches, even though it was on top of them, while also keeping her away from her groin stitches. It made her snore at night because she couldn't lie flat on her side, so I used a soft fabric cone when she went to bed.

It’s way better than the regular cones but the nozzle to blow air into it sticks out and it’s right in the middle. So it’s either poking your dogs chest or it’s on their chin/face. Not a good design. Yes I can turn it upside down but the bigger side of the donut is where the nozzle is and I want that under her neck so she can’t reach her leg. If I put the strap part under her chin she can just reach her leg and lick her wound.
