Probably the best PC controller on the market.
I'll start off plane and simple - The F710 is a high quality, solid controller. I waited a few months before writing this review so I could get to grips with the controller and write a review based on actual use, and although it's still early days, it's held up to the task. The build quality, as expected from Logitech, is very good. No sharp edges, gaps or lose buttons... It feels solid and robust. It uses two AA batteries (mine came equipped with Duracell Plus Power batteries) and they're still going strong. The buttons and analogue sticks are of high quality and are very responsive so being wireless has no effect on playability at all. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the triggers could be a bit bigger. I found that my fingers pressed on the bottom edge of the trigger which was a bit uncomfortable after extended use, but after time I got used to it and I don't notice it at all now. On a positive note they offer good resistance, aren't flimsy at all and have enough travel. The analogue sticks are responsive with no dead-zone. The only way you'll have a dead-zone is if the game you're playing has configured one by default. For example, F1 2013 will have a 20% dead-zone on the left analogue stick, which you can change to 0% in the settings and you're good to go.I would say this PC controller is the perfect mix between a ps3 and 360 controller. It's got more bulk than the Dualshock 3 and thus it's a better fit for larger hands, but keeps the symmetrical analogue stick design. There's no sign of the horrendous d-pad buttons the 360 had either, it uses separate buttons for each direction, and they actually work properly. As I mentioned, the triggers offer good resistance unlike Sony's which most felt were a little weak, so its a great all-round design. It's a great addition to your PC!For those games that were designed for a hand-held controller instead of a keyboard/mouse, wheel or joystick, look no further than the F710.

GREAT GAMEPAD WITH INITIAL PLUG AND PLAY ISSUES
There are some difficulties in the Plug and Play driver dowload and allocation. (error code 28 in the Control Panl/GamePad or HID interface...contollers, in driver management which a lot of folk would not know how to access. It took me 4 attempts (3 install and uninstalled plug and play attempts) before realising that.Solution? Pure Blue Sky Thinking even after P & P conecting it 3 times, I had to hold the logitech buttond down until the auto driver install on windows 8 had discovered the Gamepad and completed driver install. The nano receivers are standard as I have lots of Logitech items and pair easily usually, but contain no driver referring in them for a device, like Mouse or trackbal or keyboard or other H.I.D.. It must be in X-Mode when linked and when installed the first time too.The product is great, versatile. VERY ROBUST and weighty, Good design and look to it, plus further versatility as a mouse for people who may wish to use it as a kouse and functional controller (id d-mode with the Logitech F710 download from Logitech installed. for an onscreen keyboard, such as a bisble person operation wirelessly etc from a distance with the PC or laptop linked to a Wall mounted 3D massive Tv like our Samsung my son plays games on.4 stars for service and the final working product, would have been five but for the install issues and only being able to solve it with "Blue Sky" thinking appraoch after enough attempts to make most people give up, as well as the fact that unless you can remove a device and uninstall it properly via you driver management console you are stuffed after attempt one, even in a different USB.Works Waaaaaaay better in a USB 2.0 than a USB 3.0 port.Once installed it is simple to connect via a hub if you want but good luck with the install first.Hope this helps someone who encounters any difficulties on windows 8 like we did.Fell free to message me (LAWBARBAZ user: ID) for info if you get in some trouble with your install, I can probably send some screen prints to help you access where you need to go. Or talk you through it at a convenient time :-)or Follow MY install instruction, thus:Batteries in controller. Touch nothing on it.Insert Nano USB Receiver and when windows Plug and Play installation starts, immediately press AND HOLD the LOGITECH Silver button (located on top between "back" & "start" buttons and you'll hear the ping of recognition from your PC. To be safe keep it help down until the PLUG 'n' PLAY install completesTo check it is installed properly click on your Windows Start Menu Icon/Emblem and access printer and devices from the right hand menu, and if successfully installed, you should see your F710 Gamepad listed as a LOGITECH F, check the propertied with very clearly with a correct gamepad icon too, right click it, and choose PROPERTIES then Ensure you are on the first "GENERAL" tab, and in the bottom half it should show driver installed OK. If it says not instaled and an Error Code like 28 then you will need to uninstall the whole thing as you can't just add the driver from there, it WILL NOT update the driver :-(This is my 11 year olds Amazon Account used specifically for his purchases, of games, toys, elctronics and books etc, so I keep my product suggestion and his suggestion on Amazon clearly separated :-)But I have got to say with very strong conviction, and a lot of dismay, that there is NO WAY ON EARTH he would have achieved the woking solution to PLUG & PLAY.................unless you have a VERY TECH SAVVY GEEK?PC WHIZZ of a kid at that age or later even , you'll get the same issues no matter if you take plenty of time to read the instructions as we both did.A simple supplied mini disc of Drivers would solve the issue, then just select the F710 model and it would be sorted in a few minutes instead of about 100 minutes.... :-(Even the packaging on this was disappointing for a Logitech Product as it is a retail plastic hanging shell, and not reusable no matter how careful you are. All other LOGITECH goods I have bought from ANYWHERE have top quality re-usable packaging in the event of upgrade and reselling.Best of luck with any pointers here that helped.KYESTARs DaddyDon't hesitate to ask me if there is something unclear with my relating as clearly as I could, the events from yesterday evening tying to get this up and running for my sons Windows 8 Laptop (very high spec for his gaming useage, so don't think it is a laptop issue as the games all play perfectly now that he used to used th pesky keyboar for.It was a stressful period of time with my son...........especially as it was a 3rd attempt at getting a working one fro his birthday and i thought this high end Logitech would be as simple as described. notwithstanding this it still has 4 stars from me on product matter as opposed to install issues which have (now) not depleted the enjoyment of the F710 gamepad for KYESTAR :-)

Works perfectly as expected
Very good controller (I have bought another 2 since this one). Buttons and triggers all work as expected and are the same layout as an xbox 360/one controller. I have had no connection problems using the controller 15 feet away from the receiver. The joysticks are extremely accurate and have absolutely no drift. There is no lag detectable. The buttons all feel well made (logitech once again markets an excellent product) and have yet to find a problem with missed button presses. I leave the controller set in normal mode (no green light) and the rear switch set to X mode. Changing from x mode disconnects the controller from devices and printers and reconnects as a different type of wireless controller without some of the trigger functions. I believe this mode is programmable with downloadable software from logitech. Just leave it in X mode and all the games I play work perfectly (witcher 3, Skyrim, Greedfall). Highly recommended over xbox controller.
