Q: Can you just use the monitor by reading on the monitor itself without registering on line?

Yes - although account needs to be taken of the fact that there are wide fluctuations with time of the radon concentration in a home, depending on weather conditions and upon whether windows and (internal) doors are open. I have found that a radon fan and a radon sump together enable the radon levels to plummet dramatically. I normally use an average reading over several days, although shorter intervals between taking sets of readings can be very interesting (- especially if you like stats/numbers!). I found this detector to be extremely useful and ultimately, of course, its use is certainly no bad thing from a health perspective.

Q: Did anyone have theirs delivered with the batteries already installed on? mine did, and i'm wondering if the one i received was a return/refurbish.

Hi there, Thanks for your question and interest in Airthings! David Harrison's answer is correct - this is how they are supplied, new, with a small plastic tab to remove to complete the power circuit. All of our Airthings products come with batteries, and in your case, the Corentium Home comes with 3x AAA batteries which should last up to 2 years. Simply replace them with new alkaline batteries when they need changing. Q: Mine arrived without batteries and no pull tab, why?

It could be that Amazon shipped you an open/used device, I would get in contact with their customer service to have them exchange this for you. All of our monitors will come in a sealed box with batteries and a pull tab.
