Saim Float Switch Water Level Control Sensor with 13Ft Cable, Water Tank, Sump Pump

Used this to replace the switch on my daughter’s septic tank, which had developed an electrical leak to earth. New one was received quickly and worked well.

Review of Saim Float Switch Water Level Control Sensor with 13Ft Cable.A heavy duty float switch aimed at large pools or ponds, operating via mains electricity 220v to 240v it can directly switch a mains operated pump on or off with a load rating of up to 10amps.The switch is supplied with a pre connected four meter 240v cable via a waterproof tail connection, also provided is a cable weight presumably to keep the 4mtr cable submerged and on the bottom of the pool or pond.The float switch is a simple ball bearing type, this rolling internally from one end to the other end of the float to make or break the connection as the float tips up or down in response to water levels, the item received measured as requiring a minimum movement of 150mm (6”) of water level rise or fall for the ball bearing to roll from end to end, this can be adjusted to greater distances above 150mm by enabling a longer length of pivot cable.A sticker enclosed in the package states that the switch is dual purpose so presumably both ends of the float has a switch enabled by the ball bearing, one end utilised to enable a filling pump the other a drainage pump dependant on float orientation, the four metre cable colours Brown, blue and black.This float switch works as advertised above it’s 150mm minimum orientation levels and operates pumps directly from the 240v mains supply without relay’s needed, durability and waterproof reliability unknown as only recently fitted.

I got this for an external water tank that is covered to protect the quality of the water so isn't so easy to gauge how full it was - this has solved that problem. Easy to install and seems to be working well so far.
