Superb replacement for older garden cam
The media could not be loaded. Bought as a replacement for a far older 8mp still/non-HD video gardencam. Looked at various reviews on Amazon and other sites before purchase. There are probably better cameras out there but at far higher prices. As it is, this is a huge improvement on our older camera with far better image/video resolution at a really good price. Used only to see what is happening in our suburban garden during hours of darkness it has excellent detection times for wildlife coming into view. I continue to experiment with different settings to obtain best results but from first use it produced really good images. Menu is easy to navigate, no special degree needed to work out how to use it! Battery use very good with my set-up. I use rechargeable AAs, down to half capacity after a fortnight's use (Nightime recording only, I have set the camera to only operate during specific hours!). We also like the information bar (that can be switched off if not needed) showing time/date and temperature when recordings made. Daytime stills and videos are also of very good quality. Can't comment on long-term use but early signs very promising. Tight weather seals despite recent British summer rain! Highly recommended if you're after a relatively inexpensive gardencam with good image specs.

Excellent!
The media could not be loaded. First of all, this is my new favourite thing in the world! I don't like to promote consumerism but I can honestly say that my life has been enriched after getting this camera. The excitement and anticipation of viewing the high quality footage or stills is like Christmas every day. I'm lucky enough to live in a place with lots of wildlife so the biggest problem is choosing where to aim the camera. The housing is robust and waterproof (it still recorded decent night time footage even in a downpour), the quality of footage is brilliant and the sound is one of the highlights too. You may have to play around with getting your distance from the subject right depending on your settings (sensitivity/exposure capping etc) but the menu is very easy to navigate. There are loads of options and features to fully customise your setup. The strap is secure and it has a standard tripod mount thread which is very useful.Possibly the only thing that I don't like about this camera is the location of the screen; if you aren't too fussed about composition, then just turn it on and close the door, if you need to check you are pointing in exactly the right direction though, you have to do it as best you can BEFORE you mount it since the screen is in the door (which swings open away from the housing with the mounting options) but, even with this set back it's not too much of a big deal!I have used standard, Energizer rechargable batteries; if you are leaving it for a long time, or expect lots of long clips then I would go with the manufacturers recommendation of Li-ion batteries, but for me standard have been ok so far.All in all this is a wonderful product at an affordable price that gives you and incredible insight into the natural world.(The attached video is a "screenshotted" clip from a longer recording, the light coloured 'dots' at the end are my fault, not the cameras!)

Good value camera
Did a lot of homework to find a good budget trail camera. I am sure there are better cameras out there but I found the image quality is perfectly acceptable in both the light and dark. Minor issues are that when the camera was focused in on a small a area, a rat took the food I put out faster than the camera could trigger! Fortunately it returned an hour later and confirmed it's presence. Other issue outside was that fixing the camera to a tree using it's single strap and fixing it suitably to frame the image was quite difficult. I found I needed sticks to wedge the camera to point downwards. A second strap might have been useful but would add to its price. Also the lack of an ability to remote view the image whilst adjusting its positioning was challenging. Operation in test mode was helpful in providing a red light to indicate the sensitive area for triggering. Nevertheless with practice I will better learn it's field of view. Nice to be able to adjust sensitivity and brightness. I haven't tested it in the rain as yet - some people have had issues - I may experiment with taping the door to improve it's seal when left outside.
