Fun to make, but not good to eat.
Five stars but it didn’t really taste good but I did like the soy sauce. Soy sauce was the best thing but the everything like was like really squishy and it didn’t really taste like the gummy so I give it five stars because it was a cool packaging and cause it was really easy to make But just didn’t taste too good reviewed by a seven-year-old

Super fun to make
I bought this as a gift and they absolutely loved it. We made it together and it was so fun to make. All you need is water. It’s not the best tasting thing in the world but the presentation and how fun it is to make it, makes up for it. I’ve done a few of these and I like this one specifically because of the different textures. I’d recommend for a gift!

Not amazing, but not bad
I purchased this for my 12 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter. They came in a box with some heavier items and the box was a bit smushed. As for the actual product, my son loved it and made it within a few days. He loves learning about other cultures and loves cooking. My daughter, not so much (she is very picky about textures and foods). She never even opened the box. I think older kids will enjoy, especially if they have an interest in cooking or Asian culture. Ease of use- it only requires water to make which was awesome. Includes mixing tools and containers. For an inexpensive and hands on gift, pretty neat. If you have a picky eater or child that’s bothered by some textures (like my daughter) I wouldn’t recommend.

Very fun and photogenic
Pros:To clarify, when I say photogenic, I mean compared to Tanoshii Bento, it's easier for anyone to replicate the sushi and will likely look just like it does on the box. There might be a better word for it, but there's a sense of pride when you finish a kit that looks like the product on the box. Don't expect that feeling when doing tanoshii bento though, lol. The flavors are delicious, and molecular gastronomy Is so fun. You'll be experiencing that when you make the roe (popping pearls).Delicious flavors, especially the rice.Expert mode: if you are used to these kits and want a challenge, try making a completely different food than the one its made for. Like a pizza ;D And as suggested on other listings, try adding citric acid to anything that isn't gummy/jellies for a little more tartness.Cons:My favorite item in this whole kit is the delicious nori chew (it's the seaweed that holds the roe, or popping bubbles together). It's actually made with real squid ink, but when the roe comes in contact with it, it gets wet and begins to bleed. Just drain the roe as best as possible before adding.Overall, I love this set, and wish there was more roe.

Pleasantly surprised by the taste
I know a few reviews say that they don’t like the way it taste but my son and I made them last night and he gave them a 10 out of 10. It was a very fun experience and we will definitely be doing it again.

So Fun to Make
My boyfriend and I always have such a fun time making these. Although the taste is not always the best, the process is truly what I love the most. I’ve loved these since I was a kid and hope to try them all eventually!
