Don’t Believe The Hype! This is GARBAGE!
I got all hyped up on this projector right after E3. It was voted one of the best products of the entire show. It was reviewed brilliantly on YouTube. For years I haven’t wanted to go into a movie theater because people suck and ruin my experience. I wanted to recreate the feeling of light bouncing off of a screen and back to your eyes because that is a major element to the in-theater experience. So I purchased it. I couldn’t wait. The day it arrived I nearly broke my leg running to the door. I opened it, marveled at the brilliant design, plugged it in and once I started working with it, the joy balloon began deflating. It has an operating system, hooks up to wi-fi and you can download all the apps that are on your TV. I loved the idea of the swivel and being able to project at most any angle, until I got it at the precise angle and watched it slowly dip from that angle to half way off the screen. To keep it at the angle you have to tighten the screws until it won’t move. The operating system was so slow and laggy and the brightness was so weak that I had to wait until it was pitch black outside to watch anything. They tout that it can be a lamp and give you this piece that doesn’t even fit properly. When I realized how much I paid for this trash, I started doing some research. In just 2 hours I became very educated. Those brilliant reviews on YouTube were done by people who got the projector free. There were some honest folks on YouTube that bought it themselves and told the truth. The big deal in a projector is ANSI Lumens. You want a higher number as that determines the brightness and sharpness. Armed with my new knowledge I went back to Amazon and started looking at projectors that were highly rated. Get this, I paid $897.99 for a projector that could project a 30 -100 foot screen at an output of 240 ANSI Lumens with a dreadful navigation. After searching just a few minutes I found the Xgimi Elfin, that projects up to a 200 foot screen with 800 ANSI Lumens, an auto keystone and auto focus feature that are miraculous, an operating system that reacts immediately and all for the price of $649.00 plus, Amazon offers a $50 discount coupon! Oh, and the built in Harmon Kardon speakers are lit! Every single feature is better that the Samsung Freestyle and all for less than $600. I nearly broke my leg running to the UPS Store to return the Samsung. I’ve had the Xgimi since late February and am so pleased with it. I can use it in a bright room and the picture is sharp and bright! You have to hand it to the marketing team at Samsung who really pitched the Freestyle brilliantly. It’s a shame they tagged it at such a high price and didn’t deliver on all the hype. Save $300 and get a better projector. You can thank me later.

Inexpensive but still decent; great dollar-to-usefulness ratio!
I haven't heard many good things about this projector, but its only $600, so I bought it just to see how bad it could be, fully expecting to have completely burned the money. I gotta say, it's actually great for only $600! I love the auto keystone and focus; you can plop it down anywhere and it does the rest. I was also surprised to be able to use it in a fully-lit room. Even though I still plan to spend thousands on a laser projector in the future, this is quite nice for what it is.

Great for Those Familiar with Samsung TVs
I'm new to projectors (this is my first) and I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase. The projector is small and light and with an external battery, will make for a good portable option. For my usage, this projector will mainly stay in my bedroom. The included power cord is sufficiently long. Set up was remarkably easy; pretty much plug and play. If you've owned a Samsung smart TV you'll be familiar with the setup. I actually got this projector specifically because I wanted a similar experience with the TV in my living room. I also liked that the set up can be done with your phone using the SmartThings app; however, setting it up through the app kept failing and I ended up using the remote. After set up, SmartThings integration has ran smoothly. I appreciate the hot keys on the remote that let you go directly to three streaming services and Samsung's channels, but I wish those keys could be customized. The picture is bright and clear; my room has very effective blackout blinds so that definitely helps. I was planning on buying a Sonos audio bar, but the speakers on this projector is more than enough. The keystone correction could be better; the auto keystone didn't quite get it right so I still had to manually adjust the picture, but the picture still seems slightly crooked. I've tried everything to get it straight, but haven't been able to level it out. It's not noticeable once something is playing, but on startup or when looking at the main menu screen, it's obvious my picture is crooked and it's hard to ignore. Despite the hiccup during setup and the slightly askew picture, I'm still very happy with my purchase. I was never one to have a TV in the bedroom, but the idea of a projector screen that I could hide when not in use (I have a wall mounted wireless screen custom ordered) that wouldn't detract from the aesthetic of my bedroom became an attractive thought. With the screen, this projector is like having an even larger TV in my bedroom than I have in my living room. Being able to control the projector with the phone and access my other smart devices with this projector is even greater when laying in bed. This projector has made my bedroom easily my favorite room in the house! While researching projectors, I was initially just looking for a reliable brand that had built in streaming apps. I stumbled on this one, and being a Samsung TV fan, took a chance despite its less than stellar reviews. I would definitely recommend this to someone who's newish to the projector scene or who enjoys Samsung's UI. The clear picture and installed apps makes this a clear choice.
