Sometimes a sandwich size bag is just too big. These snack size zip close plastic bags are perfect for making my own individual "instant" oatmeal packets. Into each bag I put 1/2 cup of whole rolled, old fashioned, raw Quaker Oats, 1/8 cup of raisins, 1/8 cup of chopped raw almonds, and 1/8 cup of chopped raw walnuts. I squeeze out the air, zip them up to seal them, and store for breakfast. To use them I just microwave 1/2 cup of water until boiling, add a dash of salt and one snack size zip bag with the oats, raisins and nuts, stir, cover and wait 2 minutes. This is a healthy, tasty, economical breakfast.

As a customer who wanted to know this beforehand, hopefully I can shed a bit of light on the thickness of the bag and the seal. First, these bags are a great price. They are slightly thinner than Ziplock and the seal is slightly less robust than Ziplock. But are they are weak? No. Does the seal pop open? No. Everything works great. I use these bags for holding food, coins, clippers, USB drives, etc. It's a great way to organize things in a box without everything being scattered. They are more than sufficient for all of the tasks I will use them. I am happy with this purchase and would buy again at this price.
