A Sharp, Compact EDC for Self-Defense and Light Tasks
I decided to check out the Ccanku C1140 Fixed Blade Claw Knife in Black from Amazon for my EDC rotation, and it’s been a solid pickup for specific uses. As someone who hikes and camps occasionally but also wanted a discreet self-defense option, this knife’s design and affordability caught my eye.The C1140 is a compact fixed blade, measuring 7.6 inches overall with a 3.4-inch D2 steel blade and a 4.1-inch G10 handle, weighing just 4.77 ounces. The claw-shaped blade is razor-sharp out of the box—sharp enough to slice paper effortlessly, as many Amazon reviews confirm—and the D2 steel offers excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance for the price. I’ve used it for light tasks like cutting paracord and opening packages, and it performs like a scalpel, especially for precision cuts. The G10 handle is grippy, with a finger ring that’s comfy for both forward and reverse grips, making it feel secure for self-defense, as some reviewers noted for concealed carry or “last-ditch” scenarios. The Kydex sheath is a highlight—tight retention, no rattle, and it comes with a belt clip and neck chain for versatile carry options. I’ve worn it horizontally on my belt, and it’s low-profile enough to stay discreet.Pros and ConsThe knife’s lightweight and slim design makes it easy to carry, and the D2 blade is a steal for around $25, with Amazon reviews praising its “insane quality” for the cost. The finger ring adds confidence for piercing or slashing, and the sheath’s secure fit is perfect for EDC. However, the handle is short and may feel cramped for larger hands—one reviewer with bigger hands mentioned modifying the blade edge to avoid cuts. The sheath’s clip release button can pop open if pressed while sitting, as one user pointed out, and the blade’s thin tip might snap if stuck in hard materials, so it’s not ideal for heavy-duty tasks like batoning. Some Amazon reviews also noted loose handle scales, but a quick tighten with Loctite fixed mine.VerdictFor the money, the Ccanku C1140 is a fantastic EDC claw knife for self-defense and light outdoor tasks like camping or hiking. It’s not built for heavy bushcraft but shines as a sharp, concealable tool. If you want a budget-friendly, reliable blade with a great sheath, this is a winner—just be gentle with the tip and check the handle screws.

Good Quality Knife
I always carry a couple of knives, and this has become one of my favorites. It came sharp, it is a great size blade, and easy to conceal. I keep it handy and like the way it fits my hand and the loop on it.

Nice knife, ok sheath.
I only have one complaint. The belt clip doesn’t fit my belt. I wear a wide belt to accommodate my EDC, but the clip on this sheath doesn’t fit. Other than needing to find one that will work, good value for the price.

Good poker
Good sharp blade. Feels nice in the hand. Finger hole big enough for my big fingers. Fits snuggle in the case. I wear it handle down on my ruck and have no problems with it coming loose.

Great size for EDC
Sweet little knife..very pointy not so sharp out the box but easy to sharpen..Not good if you have big hands but I recommend flipping the screws so the Phillips head is inside the clip, just makes it look better in my opinion

Pretty good for the money.
Surprisingly, a solid and sharp knife for $25. The sheath works well too.

Highly recommend 👍
The media could not be loaded. This knife has become a EDC for me. I love it! I travel a lot and needed a carry knife that wasn’t huge. I actually wear it in my front pocket of my pants. Both Levi’s and wranglers. Even with the belt holder on it fits comfortably. And I drive/sit alot.I like that I can be anywhere and have my finger looped into it and no one even knows I have it in hand. Came very sharp and does the job. This knife has one job. Would recommend to any man or woman. Stay safe, be prepared.

the goods and the bads and the uglies
it looks like a tough EDC knifethe sheathe is acceptable and very secure. it has a satisfying snap to lock it in place.it has a wicked deadly spike point that cant be argued with ,but the blade edge is not razor precision fine . and it lacks slicing power - thats something i need , otherwise this product loses value. I don't know if i'm supposed to sharpen this product on my own to get it how i want, but they shipped it to me Under-Sharp. and i don't like it as much like that. It loses utility value. It can't even slice paper. So I'm stuck with this Utility Spike, which is finely crafted and has a nice handle, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have as much Utility purpose if the edge is not razor precision sharp. I don't mean to be so picky, but I don't want to get stuck with a product that I'm not going to use. So i Think I gave the product a fair rating.
