2 defective items
Ordered one of these to use as a way of checking drone flying conditions. Delivered on time but when I got it from the box to try it I noticed the fan was not moving freely. I took it kayaking and stood on a jetty in a fairly stiff breeze but the blades still did not move. If I blew hard into them they would turn and make a screeching sound as though the bearings were faulty. Returned the item to Amazon and quickly received a replacement. This one did seem to be better in that the fan blades did move as I took the item from the box, a good sign I thought. But, once again when the blades got moving faster there was the same screeching sound as on the original and to go along with this the altimeter was showing the wrong altitude. I know my cottage is at an altitude of 205m but the altimeter only showed 97m..It seems Amazon have a faulty batch even though laughably there is a "Quality tested" sticker on the back of the item. The quality controller must have been on a day off and someone was just sticking the labels on everything!! I know it's not the most expensive wind meter but looking at online reviews this seemed to come out fairly well so I expected it to at least give pretty accurate readings and not be over a hundred meters out on altitude and have the as advertised "8-leaf wind wheel with low friction technology" screeching like a scolded cat..Have returned again and ordered a more expensive and hopefully better brand..
