So much better than the older heating methods!
This is my first experience using and owning an induction hob. The main reason I held back was because I didn't think my very expensive cookware would work with induction, and it doesn't. But my frying pans and wok work fine, and I'm blown away at how quickly this induction system heats up the oil in the pan, literally just a few seconds! I will replace my other saucepans one day but am planning to by a pressure cooker to try with it after reading some brilliant reviews. Cooking is a lot easier and faster, plus the hob cools down very quickly (compared to my halogen electric cooker). I bought the Daewoo because it is a brand name I know at a good price. If you want to try out induction cooking then this is a good hob to start with. I do find the frying setting is too hot for my uses but it is simple to just press the minus button until it is at a level I like. It takes a little practice to get used to but I'm so glad I finally took the plunge into induction cooking! Cleaning has been easy, it's a flat smooth top with no corners or areas to trap food. Buttons are touch buttons, so no moving parts to go wrong or get jammed up with food over time. I don't know how it would handle spilt liquid, that hasn't happened to me yet. It has a warning if the pan isn't compatible or if you move the pan too far away. Heating up and down is instant, though your pot may hold on to heat, so bear that in mind. It has a great low setting which I want to try out for slow cooking (maybe replace my slow cooker?).

So fast at boiling a pan of water!
Should have thought about this ages ago!We have solar panels but gas hobs and it always make me wince when we're cooking away in the hobs and the sun is shining! There are a few more options and buttons that you really need but it works really well once you figure out the essential buttons. We boiled veg at lunch and fried steak last night, very successfully. In fact, because it was a nice evening I put the hob outside and cooked there to keep the kitchen smoke free.I got this one because the induction element is slightly raised so less chance of a hot pan touching anywhere else (I saw a reveiw of another make that had some melting issues). There's a fan which makes some noise (nothing serious), but at least it helps remind you there's something cooking.I'll probably be getting another one soon for my son at university.

Quirky but does the job
If you’re used to normal built-in induction hobs, this one is a bit strange! You WILL need to read the manual!Instead of having on, off and + or - for heat levels, it has a bunch of different “functions” all with their own heat settings - and some of them automatically go up or down at certain times, so definitely check what it does before you set it. Personally I would prefer to just hit “on”, crank it to “7” and get on with it but I’m sure someone out there finds this style of setup helpful lol.Once you do get it going, it heats up very quickly and effectively and I’ve had no major problems with heat distribution. The surface is VERY slippery (although it’s getting less so over time) so make sure you’re holding the handle of any pot/pan you’re stirring! On the plus side, it’s very easy to clean any spills because of this. There’s a fan noise while on (which stops a minute or so after you stop cooking) and it also loudly bleeps if you lift the pan while it’s on, so not necessarily the best for quiet middle-of-the-night cooking.Honestly it does the job well and it was cheaper than other brands at the time I bought, but prepare to get to know and work around its quirks.

Ensure you understand how an induction hob works.
I have a 5-ring induction hob and wanted a low power 3-pin plug back-up hob in case of a power cut that can be powered by house batteries (or even a BEV that has V2L). The induction hob works perfectly fine considering it is rated at only 2kW. The power setting adjustments are in quite high steps, the beeps are very loud and the fan is a little noisy but other than that it’s a good single hob.Reading some of the negative views made me carefully think about purchasing this hob. However, it became obvious that one must be very wary of some of these negative 1-star reviews since there is a clear misunderstanding on how an induction hob works.(1) The hob doesn’t heat itself up (a magnetic field causes the pan to heat directly and the eventual hot pan conducts heat back to the hob surface), so no pan = no heat.(2) Placing a non-magnetic pan on it such as a common aluminium pan without a magnetic insert within the base will not work. If a magnet doesn’t adhere to the base of the pan, the pan is not suitable for an induction hob.If one can see error code E0 then it is a user error and not a hob error. A displayed error code E0 is that there is no pan or unsuitable pan on the hob, as clearly stated in the manual.I don’t work for the manufacturer, just exasperated that any ignorance of induction technology could lead to a misinformed purchase decision.

Garbage
Arrived and had an error code 'L' on the display. Initially thought this might mean lock, but not instructions how to unlock or if this infact means lock at all, nothing in the instructions .Eitherway, this junk has left me inconvenieced. Avoid and buy something else.
