Windows 10 will give you the option to mirror one screen, and extend the other, so if you're using that you should be fine.

No this doesn't work for a MacBook. You can connect 2 external displays using this adapter however the 2 displays will be mirror images of one another.

I don't know if it will work with your laptop but it does on mine (HP Pavilion 17-cd0033na). HP call it a 'USB Type-C SuperSpeed port with HP Sleep and charge'. If your user manual has something similar listed, this could potentially work with your laptop.
