We love Sai Oua, and of course it is difficult to find outside Thailand. We live in the US.I stumbled upon this by accident, and thought, 'what the heck?' I'm glad that I did. We really enjoyed it. The instructions were easy to follow, and making the sausage was pretty easy (and we've never actually stuffed sausage). I did have to purchase a simple sausage... stuffer? Forcer? I dunno, but it was a pretty basic model and it worked fine with the supplied casings. I'm also probably going to try making a 'loose' mix from it.As far as the taste, it's quite good. It is definitely Sai Oua, but... milder? I suspect this would be good augmented with some fresh herbs and chilis. The dried stuff seems to form a good foundation - but I will probably experiment with some additional 'doctoring'.Will definitely order again.

I guess I should have enlarged the page to make sure I read all the ingredients before buying this. Some years ago, I developed an allergy to MSG, which was why I learned to cook southeast asian dishes at home. So I can't eat MSG & also avoid soy protein (why add fake protein when you've already got real protein from the pork?). And nobody wants siicone dioxide in their food. Unfortunately, when I tried to initiate a return, it said this wasn't returnable. But a quick call to Amazon got them to issue me a credit.
