Works great for remote monitoring of your grilling
FURTHER UPDATED 10/2/24So I don’t know if they did an app update or what, but I found that if you leave the app active on your phone it will actually sound an alarm when it hits temp, and gives you an opportunity to silence all alarms - which is nice when the outside unit is LOUDLY beeping away. I restored my rating to 5 stars and am very happy with this unit now.UPDATE 7/27/23I wrote my initial review after testing the functionality but not actually grilling meat. Did a pork butt last weekend and all worked well EXCEPT the most important thing: an alarm. This app only sends a push notification when the target temp is hit - one ding at best. Thankfully I was watching closely and saw them. When I got to the grill the base unit was beeping like crazy, letting my neighbors know the meat was done! Wanted to send it back but I waited too long.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have another Bluetooth unit very similar to this that I like a lot, but the remote unit is only good for the Bluetooth range. I wanted something that I could monitor over Wi-Fi so I could use it remotely on my phone from anywhere. This until fits the bill and works good.I like having the 4 probes which allows multiple settings for things like different cuts of meat, or vegetables, or even monitoring the temperature of the grill with the included grill clip. The different colored probe grips also helps to easily keep track of which probe is which.Since this unit’s settings are similar to the one I currently use, it was easy to set up the temp settings and alarms after getting it synced to the phone. After downloading the app to my phone there was a paring process that did not go well for me. At first I thought it was because we have a dual band Wi-Fi system - the Eero mesh, which uses both 5mhz and 2.44mhz bands. This unit works ONLY on the 2.44mhz bandwidth. After failing to pair twice, I found a setting on the Eero that pauses the 5mhz system for a few minutes so you can overcome just this problem. After doing that I was able to get the unit paired to my Wi-Fi and the app started working on my phone. From there, everything is done on the app except to turn on and off the temp probe unit that sits near the grill. The app is fairly straight forward and doesn’t have a lot of features so it’s easy to use. One feature that my other unit doesn’t have is the temperature history that shows the progress of the temperature over the time of the cook. This could be useful for gauging how long a similar cook will take in the future. It is not dynamic, however, so you have to go in and out of the history page for it to update the history - so you can’t watch it progress in real time if you sit on the history page.Overall I’m very pleased with this unit and think it’s reasonably priced for the functions it provides. It meets my needs and I recommend it for simple remote temperature monitoring.

Excellent!
I've been cooking BBQ and smoking meat for more than 15 years. I’m also somewhat of a gadget-guy and am always looking to up my BBQ cooking arsenal. I have a lot of experience with different thermometers ranging from old-school oven dials, to wireless remote styles, to the newer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi models. The InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T is the best that I’ve found, and it also costs about half the price of other high-end Wi-Fi thermometers. Here are the reasons why I think this is the best Wi-Fi thermometer around:Wi-Fi- If you are new to smoking, or haven’t yet made the stich to Wi-Fi, this is an absolute game changer. Gone are the days of needing to stay within range to keep tabs on a cook. You can monitor temps from literally anywhere you have cellphone service. The freedom that this provides can’t be overstated. Don’t get me wrong, I love sitting on the patio smoking BBQ, but I also have obligations and things to take care of. Keeping an eye on how my brisket is coming along while I’m watching my son’s soccer game is incredibly handy. The cool points I get when I casually check the temp my ribs while I’m out mountain biking with friends is the type of thing that’ll put a little swagger in your step. Even if you’re not comfortable leaving the house while cooking, the elimination of dead spots that you have with Bluetooth and wireless units is a huge improvement.Setup- This is an area where Inkbird really stands out. Setup was very easy. My six-year-old daughter was with me while I was unboxing, and she actually did most of the setup with a little guidance from me. We just followed the instructions, and everything worked. It was that easy.User interface- I found the platform to be very intuitive and easy to use. In just a few minutes I was able to figure out how to get the unit to do everything that I wanted, such as set high and low alerts for my cooking temperature, as well as setting a finish temp for the meat that I’m cooking. Creating my own custom temps and ranges was very fast and easy as well. Anyone who’s tried to do this using the older wireless remote models will greatly appreciate the ease of setup that you get using this app.Accuracy- Having the ability to calibrate individual probes is a huge benefit, although all probes were spot on when tested in an ice bath and boiling water. I was surprised by the responsiveness of the probes. They are within a couple seconds of my ready check thermometer, which is impressive. In a pinch you could use one of these probes to spot check the temp of something, although that’s not really what this is designed for.Fit and Finish- this is another area where the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T really shines. The build of the central unit itself is sleek and sturdy. Weather resistant ports and a magnetized base make life easier. Color coded probes help to keep things organized when setting up for a cook. The probes are just the right size- not so long that they take up valuable real estate in the cook chamber, but not so short that they can’t get an accurate reading on a large cut of meat. The 90-degree elbow on the probes is also a nice improvement over the earlier Inkbird models.Final thoughts- whether you’re new to BBQ and looking for a thermometer that will set you up for success, or a well-seasoned smoker (sorry, I couldn’t resist) who’s looking to up their BBQ game by making things more streamlined and convenient, the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T should be at the very top of your list of thermometers. It has all the advanced features that you get with the higher end Wi-Fi thermometers on the market. It does everything as well or better than the competition and does so at a more competitive price-point. I’m very happy with the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T and I’d definitely recommend it to others without hesitation.

AMAZING BBQ/SMOKING/COOKING DEVICE!!!
I purchased this unit a few years ago and dont normally leave reviews after that many years, in fact i dont leave many reviews due to time constraints. But I felt that i needed to leave one for this device. I am an enthusiast cooker both inside the house (via roasts and large meat cuts) but more importantly for me is my hobby (BBQ, Smoking etc) in warmer weather. This INKBIRD (IBBQ-4T) WiFi unit is AMAZING. It was the first device that allowed me to not be concerned about forgetting to check my meat-project while smoking all night (Briskets and Pork Shoulders) and gave me the confidence to actually sleep thru the night while smoking meats. Literally a lifesaver! The overall quality of this unit is also amazing, built to last years, and have never had an issue with performance related issues. Simply charge the device and youre ready. Its VERY easy to use out of the box, and its intuitive in nature which is important to me bc I dont want to take a college course to get started. Simply use the amount of probes needed to monitor your project, set the desired temperatures for each of the four probes...and that is IT! I also love using the magnetic adapter when cooking inside by simply attaching it to the metal on the front face of my stove and I am able to quickly monitor the temperature without opening the oven at all and losing precious heat that takes a lot of time to re-establish internally. I have used earlier models from ThermaPro and MEATR and i must say that INKBIRD has become my TRUSTED go to for all cooking needs that require my ultimate attention. Highly recommend this device to anyone that invests a lot of hard earned money these days to purchase their meats to feed their family and friends. Even if i were to be a professional, i would use this unit to safeguard my cooking. Bon Apetit!!! You wont be disappointed
