Helped my 10-year-old cat a lot, but have to hide it in food
First of all, Fakespot is wrong about these reviews being unreliable (F rating); the positivity is tricking them because it's such a good product. Had to leave a review after seeing that because it's been very beneficial for my cat.TL;DR: Try it with your pet, especially an older one, and be patient for a few weeks until you see results. One bottle lasts awhile. The twistoff doesn't work but you can cut it off. Also, store it in the fridge if your house gets too warm at times.BackgroundI originally purchased this supplement for my cat because the vet said he had the start of periodontal disease. Since I didn't really have the funds for the teeth cleaning, and I was worried about his health in undergoing it (they have to put cats under so they don't bite and there's always a risk with that), I did some research and tried a few things to slow down the progression of the periodontal disease.Brushing his teeth was near impossible (I like to joke that biting is his favorite thing, and he's a big cat!). Those Greenies dental chews caused him stomach trouble and I found out that they contain ingredients that can cause blockages in the intestinal tract(!) so I stopped giving him those. Plus, his teeth hurt too much to really chew them. At some point, over a year ago, I came across this product and the associated research proving the benefits of it.Worth noting, though it wasn't my main concern at the time since I chalked it up to his advancing age, but I had also noticed he was slightly "lethargic", where he would sleep or stay in his bed most of the day. He even had a slight limp, to the point where he wouldn't want to go up or down the stairs much. I have another cat who is much younger, and while he would play with her, he would sometimes stop and lay down in the middle. Part of that was definitely the state of his health at the time: overweight, and with undiagnosed Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) that he would get treatment for later. (1-TDC may have helped with the FLUTD, actually, though I couldn't prove it either way. More on that later.)The First Results: January 2019 to April, May/June 2019It takes some time for it work, like 2 weeks of constant doses once a day. Then you switch to once every other day. I did have some difficulty in sticking to the schedule but I got the hang of it after awhile. The main problem I had was that my cat did not like the taste and hated it being put on his gums. The twist-off feature also doesn't work, it just stretches and won't break off, so I always just cut it off.Despite my cat's reaction to it I stuck with it. I'm really glad I did! Can't say when exactly it started happening, but soon my cat was back to playing with the younger cat, jumping and running without having to lay down. His teeth and gums are still an issue to this day (he needs a professional cleaning), but I believe it helped with relieving some of the gum pain as well. He was back to his playful, affectionate, loud self!Remember how I said that he had undiagnosed FLUTD? In April 2019 he was hunched over in pain and I had to rush him to vet emergency care. I was understandably worried and wanted to figure out how this had happened. I feed my cats very well, with somewhat expensive wet food, yet it turns out he was not drinking enough water and the content of the food was too high in ash and magnesium. Stress may have also played a role. Before I figured that out I contacted 1-TDC's customer service about the possibility that 1-TDC would contribute to FLUTD and they responded very quickly. Turns out it wasn't part of the cause and should help with the inflammation involved with 1-TDC.Yet I had stopped giving him 1-TDC just in case. About a month or two later, I can't remember, I noticed the return of his limp and "lethargy". He was slowly returning to a healthy weight and doing much better with the FLUTD treatment, yet still had lingering effects from both, I guess. I decided that I would continue giving him the supplement but by that point the bottle had started to smell strangely and I threw it out. My kitchen can get a little hot, which is where I was keeping it, and so I think it may have started to go bad. So then I stopped giving it to him for several months as I waited for his FLUTD treatment to be tapered off.The Second Results: December 2019 to PresentA few months went by since I stopped giving him the supplement. He was back to his old habits of sleeping more and half-heartedly playing with the younger cat. His weight was better and he'd made a full recovery from FLUTD.I ordered more 1-TDC in December and resumed giving it to him daily for 2 weeks and then every other day, or about every 3 days. I haven't been as consistent as before but the effects are definitely noticeable! He's had more energy, his coat has less dandruff and is shinier and smoother (he's a short-hair), and he plays like he used to when he was young. To combat it going bad after awhile, since one bottle lasts for months, I've stored it in my fridge. It's got a thicker texture when cold, in case that matters to anyone. Also, instead of trying to rub it on his gums, which he hates and stresses him out, I mix it into his food.Overall I'd say I'm very happy with this product. My cat has definitely been healthier with this supplement. By the way, these complex fatty acids in 1-TDC have been proven effective in scientific studies, including in humans for treating osteoarthritis and other stuff. It's definitely worth the price, in my opinion.

Best for dog's teeth
This has been the best product for maintaining clean teeth and bone support I've used in a long time.

Very good results for mobility
My lab is over 15 years old. She started refusing her glucosamine chews. Her mobility was getting worse and worse. I started her on this a month ago. No problem putting it on her gums (she naps a lot). She is jumping up and off the bed again. Her ears are up and she's much more alert. You have nothing to lose by trying this.

Unexpected texture
The media could not be loaded. Strange consistency. With twist-off capsules like this, I expected a liquid/oil, but it’s more of a chunky paste. Dog seems to enjoy the taste & product is not expired, though.

Life changing results
The media could not be loaded. After receiving devastating news that Sargent has a herniated disc and is as struggling to walk I started looking for a supplement to help him. Listening to Houndsman XP podcast with Heath Hyatt he recommended 1TDC. After talking with Pierre-Olivier he suggested I apply the products topically to the sore area and give him two chewables a day for a month and I should see dramatic results. With in 2 weeks sarg was walking around and clearly wasn’t in any pain. Having working hounds and elder dogs I highly recommend 1TDC.Miller deer tracking approved. Thank you 1TDC for developing this amazing product. 5 star rating.

Hard to administer
Administration of the medication is diificult. It needs to be wiped inside the dogs cheek and it is messy and half of the product gets on my finger and is wasted. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Easy to apply to gums!
I just received this supplement yesterday so I am not able to report any benefits at this time. I will return when/if I notice the intended benefits. I do know it will be a while b/c it can takes time to undo years of damage. In the interim I am thrilled to report that these small heart shaped capsules are just amazing! They're easy to handle. The tip doesn't twist off easily and so I recommend using a pair of scissors.I was worried the contents of the capsule was going to be an oil and that it would run all over the place. Instead I was happy to find that it's a paste which isn't too thick or thin/runny. The paste is easy to squeeze out and onto a Q-tip which has made for easier application to my cat's gums rather than trying to apply it directly from the capsule.I don't seem to notice any smell from it but I'm not sure if my cats do or not. They sniffed it & didn't repel from it but they also didn't want to lick it right up either.Regardless of their indifference to the paste I was able to easily apply it to their gums w/out much fuss which was very nice.Every cat owner knows that kitties dislike having their mouths opened. ButI find it's easier to apply the paste to their gums when they're a bit sleepy. So, if you're having a hard time just wait till your fur baby is napping & then gently lift their upper &/or lower lip to apply the paste w/a Q-tip.If it still proves to be too difficult I would just squeeze it into their wet food, try applying it to a treat, or put it on their paw so they'll lick it off.I gave it 4 stars only because I have just started using it and don't yet know about it's effectiveness.Even though I've just started using it I highly recommend trying it b/c I have read a few scientific studies about 1-TDC & the science behind it seems solid and not only for feline/canine use but for people as well.I just wish that it was far more affordable. COVID-19 has hit my home hard so this is an absolute luxury at this time. Fingers crossed as I pray for the best outcome. 🤞🙏🐈😻 Best wishes to everyone & happy holidays! Please remember to wear a mask, use social distancing, and to stay home when possible. Remember, a virus travels in spit, snot, and mucus so it does not pass through holes in a mask. The spit etc. get caught in the fibers of the mask. So, the theory that the virus passes right through isn't true. Also, it is a combination of wearing a mask and keeping a distance of 6ft or more between yourself and others that helps to greatly reduce the risk of asymptomatic and symptomatic people from passing it on as easily. Stay safe everyone. Please be kind and show love to one another.
