Good value depending on longevity
Amazon Renewed product. Did a factory reset on it and then went through the activation process with Xfinity via their mobile app. Activation went flawlessly, and the unit is functioning within design parameters. This is a good value product, depending on longevity.--Don't forget to log into the modem and change the default password. I found to do this you have to turn the modem off, unhook the coaxial cable (but leave the data cable from the router connected)), and then turn the modem back on. After it completed its start-up I was able to connect to 192.168.100.1 and access the modem log-in page via a browser. Input the default user and password that's on the bottom of the modem. It will prompt you to change the default.

Great modem
It took a little getting it set up but I think that was on Comcast. Unit is working great with speeds way faster than my old unit gave

works great, very fast and stable, easy to set up
Works great. Replaced older, slower one. This handles higher speeds and more connections.Only prob is now it's faster than my older PC so now I'm probably going.want to upgrade that too. ;-)

Worst modem I have purchased
I bought this modem only because my Aries commercial became outdated. I have the nut gear router so I figured I would buy the Netgear modem. The reach on this modem is terrible, I have a garage 20 feet away from my house and it has a hard time Connecting to my camera if the power goes out and you have to try to re-hook this modem to your router plus to my Xfinity. You will have a terrible time. I even had an Xfinity agent here and it took him two hours to try to hook it up. I was even told by several people from Xfinity that Netgear is the most difficult, incompatible system that they ever have to hook up. Unfortunately, after spending the money that I spent on this modem and I’m passed the return date, I will be switching back to a new version of Arris.

Perfect modem for those that like to own their own equipment.
Easy to activate with Xfinity. Log into account go to your equipment and choose to activate/replace. Enter MAC address and within minutes the device is online.During setup if you plug a computer or laptop into the ethernet port to verify connectivity or complete activation, power cycle the modem when switching to your router. It binds the MAC address of the device plugged into the ethernet port until power cycle
