Clarke Rotary Soil Sieve CRS400 by Clarke International

Excellent tool, did think it might have fallen apart in no time when I started to put it together but it has held up well. The coating seems very durable, has not started to chip yet and have used it for a good few hours so far. Quite a good size, too much bigger and it could easily become unwieldy. Nice and light whilst still remaining durable so is not a pain to move around. The rotary arm doesn't quite reach the sides so I find a bit of soil builds up around them that does require manually scraping off but that does not really affect the functionality of the device. Overall very good value for money I think.

I rarely leave reviews but SO impressed with this Clarke soil sieve I had to share. Per photo I have spent a week doing a 2 metre round flower bed taking it from dry (hot weather) clay with large stones/grass to a fine approx 10mm screened bed. It was hard work but this tool help 10 fold. I had no problems with the knob handle others mentioned but I used leather gloves allowing smoother hand/handle contact that didn’t unwind it. The cross bar at the top allows one hand to hold it and the handle turns above your hand. Additionally, I used this crossbar to break some harder clods against pulling them into it like a knife. The bar inside that turns against the soil/stones gathers the vegetation wrapped around it making that easy to remove. After 1 weeks work noticed that the green coating is still intact aswell. I was initially worried when the instructions referred to the tool as a compost sifter thinking it wouldn’t handle the battering I needed to give it. I had some damper soil on the first day and will say it gathers around the rim of the mesh and little stones get stuck between the wet clay soil and the 4 screw fixings needing unclogging often. Love this tool!

Fast delivery - Arrived in just 2 days. I have spent hours sifting soil in the past and this is a simple but fantastic item. Does the job so much quicker and very easy to use too. I managed to find a large plastic bucket which fits exactly underneath but could just stand in a wheelbarrow or even on a plastic sheet on the ground. Does not take a lot of effort to operate and ideal for me as I have arthritis in my hands. A massive time saver and I only wish I had got this years ago - well worth the money. Everything gets sieved now in 1/4 of the time.
