Colonel Conk Model 221 Mug, Mixed Badger Brush and Soap

I bought this in early 2019. Some of the older reviewers got a different product than what they ordered, but what I got looks just like the picture: a nice ceramic mug, some soap (nice lather, light and pleasant scent), and brush. The mug isvery solid, with a nice heft to it. The brush is not bad at all; it has soft bristles but they're slowly falling out, and the handle is plastic. Both the mug and the brush have a Colonel Conk logo on them. The stand is nothing fancy, but it's easy to use and lets the brush dry out. I'm happy with the purchase for the price ($23.83). More money would get a better quality brush.

I had one of these years ago, but it disappeared somehow over the years. I decided to get a new one and I still think you get a much closer and smoother shave with soap than with cream. The only issue is I just finished shaving and the brush fell apart. This is only the third time that I have used it. Guess I will try to hot glue it. It still gives the best shave however.

My father is very old school when it comes to shaving and he loves it! He also has mobility issues due to two strokes and a burn accident so the handle on the mug is a blessing.

Although I don't use a straight razor, or a dreaded double edge razor, I still like to use an old fashioned brush and soap when I shave. You can use hot water and not shock your face when you put on cold shaving cream from a can. And if you're a cheap skate you will save a little money with the mug and brush.

The soap and mug are nice, but the brush has been losing bristles since day one. The bristle loss hasn't seemed to effect the lathering ability, but is of some concern if it continues. The bristle loss has slowed down. I'm hoping that it was just from being new. If I don't lose any more bristles, I'll be happy with the product and would give it a higher rating

I love this product and have been using the soap for years. The only complaint is that the shave mug arrived broken, really broken. Soap is great and the brush looks good.

Great soap and a nice quality brush. It's been a long time since I used the old fashion shaving soap and brush, and all I can say is that it will be a long time before I don't! Great lather, as thick as you want it to be. Don't use too much water on the brush.

My honest opinion is to order the soap but just grab an old coffee mug out of your cabinet. I think these mugs are very thin and not worth the $20 they chargs. I like the soap and the brush is ok but the mug is week. And that wood thing that says Col. Conk is just that, A thin piece of wood glued to the packaging.
