MICHELIN 12290 Digital Tyre Pressure gauge with Key Ring & LED Flash Light

I'm really happy with how it works so far, it is light weight and easy to use. It fits well over the Tyre stem and provides a secure connection. It appears accurate. I use it with my Hyundai i20 elite that has separate Tyre pressure monitoring system indicators for each wheel and this gauge reading matches those readings.It would be better if there were a separate button for changing type of reading (PSI, bar, KPA, kg per cm)To turn ON the gauge, have to push the ON button to activate the gauge. The Screen will flash and will show "0.0" with default unit (in PSI). Press and hold the button for 3 seconds, it will cycle between the different readings and you have to put it back to the desired type of reading before you proceed. This also can happen when you turn it off. If you don't, it will likely be set on the wrong type of reading, the next time you turn it on. I found that you can get used to this behavior, but even after using it several times, this is still rather annoying.It runs on 2 CR2032 3V battery and seems like replaceable by unscrewing 1 screw at the back. It takes 2 CR2032 3V Lithium Coin Cell.Pro:-LED light makes it really easy to use in the dark-Easily forms a seal with the valve stem to get an accurate read on the first try(this was my main gripe with other gauges I've used)-Large white backlit LCD display-It comes with Key ring and user manual-Accuracy - pressure +/- 1 percent (as compared to others Tyre pressure gauge available in market)Cons:-It is difficult to read for spoke wheels Tyre in bikes.(Doesn't fit well)I'm not sure what else one would need from a Tyre gauge, so this one gets an A+.Over all I'm very much satisfied with the purchase and I'll be using it every week to just monitor the tyre pressure.

First the good points.Build quality and general feel of the product: Really well built. Though light, the plastic quality is good and should last many years.The attached hook looks tough and is made of metal with gloss finish. The spring of the hook feels sturdy.Accuracy: The readings matched with a Bergmann Typhoon pump so I feel the accuracy to be reliable.Packaging: It came in a blister pack which removes any chance of tampering. The packaging and printing looks good and attractive. It comes with a small booklet inside with usage instructions. A simple diagrammatic instruction is also printed on the back of outer package. A good thing was there was a slip of paper that broke contact with the battery thus preserving its shelf life. I think it was a thoughtful touch which very few gadgets come up with. So even if you get a year or two old stock, you can rest assured that the battery would still hold more than 90% of charge.LED light: The inclusion of a small LED is a nice touch. It has a sufficient throw and also has the added convenience of being a small torch.Battery Saving: The device switches off automatically after 10 seconds saving battery in the process. The device comes loaded with two CR2032 batteries, which are same as one would find in most car remotes, so availability of batteries is not an issue.Screen: The display is the cake here. It is an inverse backlit LCD which works well in bright daylight as well as in the dark. The display is also crisp with large legible digits.Now coming to the niggles:The measuring process takes a few tries to get it right without losing air. Initially, I lost a few PSIs while trying to measure the air pressure. The fit between the tyre valve and the meter is not snug, so unless you hold the meter in the correct position, you'll leak air. There's an angle (a slight tilt towards the user) that eliminates air loss as opposed to a straight fit. But that may vary from vehicle to vehicle. In an ideal condition you should not lose more than 0.5psi of air during measurement.The length could have been a centimeter less in my opinion, although I have no issues with the design and portability. At 9.3cms, the device could pose a fitting problem with some motorcycle tyres or tyres with spokes.All in all, I would say it is a good, well-built product with nothing to complain about if one can stomach the considerably high price. Given it is made in china, the price benefit could surely have been passed on to the consumer. I would give this product 4.5 stars.

I brought this product twice.1st Experience:First time I got in within 2 days and I was excited.So Opened it and it was "Not working product" I was disappointed.Problem: It was not getting switch off automatically or manually and also, it was not showing any reading.2nd Experience:So, on the same day, I ordered the same product another time.Now, this product is working fine. and don't have any problem.Readings are accurate and correct. I cross-checked on SHELL petrol pump.I got the refund for the first product. The return was easy and no questions were asked.Overall I am satisfied with this product and I will recommend it to buy.Regarding Other Pressure Guage:I have tried other products also, and none of them is accurate and reliable.You will waste money on other product. I know this is costly comapare to other product but, it is good product and if you have money you can buy it.

You pay so much only to receive a unit that has a dead battery pre-installed. You need to shop around for the smallest screwdriver to open the battery casing to replace the battery. Pathetic, a 500 rupee local brand model comes with a working battery. Forget the accuracy , I'm still searching for the smallest screwdriver.Edit- got screwdriver and replaced the dead battery. Accuracy is good, recommend this product. Light weight plastic, small and handy. Position against the tyre valve properly to avoid air leak. Good functional display with multiple metrics.

Easy to carry and useful.

Doesn't read pressure because the device doesn't even start properly. Display is average.It is not too big but there is no point in size measuring because you can't even use it without banging on the battery twice.Just go for a tyre inflator instead which is at a similar price point. You can at least get a spare charger and a spare battery included in it.

I keep it in my car at all times. It works well and is reasonably accurate. I'm satisfied.
