Our dog has a troublesome wart on his inner back paw hock and can't get in for surgery for a few months. He keeps licking and bumping it to the point where it bleeds. In the meantime we have been trying a variety of different things (which haven't worked) to cover it so he doesn't have to wear the cone 24/7. So far this brace seems to be doing the job, with vet wrap under it. It has not slipped and my dog acts like it isn't even on. The only issue was we had to size up. He is tall and lean, he measured as a M but we had to size up to XL for the proper fit. Despite that, it seems to be working very well and has some nice padding on the inside.

The medium size was perfect fit for my pug.

Very poor quality

This runs a little small from the measurements. I would order a size up if I bought it again. Going to try to make it work. The Velcro only wraps around part of his leg. We shall see if my Doberman will leave it on.

Did not work for my dog

There is entirely too much velcro on this brace. The velcro is the entire way around. The excess not covered by the tab collects lint, fuzz, etc. It also sticks to rugs, blankets, etc and pulls it right off!

I actually did not need it for a sprain injury, but rather to help hold bandages in place and relieve pressure and pain to a large open wound on hock.... working amazing! My bully has lick granuloma and constantly chewing and licking his paws. Having all four paws wrapped.... he proceeded to go higher up the back leg right into the bend and it was horribly deep! No bandages would stay in place from the bend in the leg and I stumbled upon this neat little brace and my dog is so happy with it on! I think it also somehow relieves the pressure on the open wound helping the pain while holding the gauze and bandages in place! Now if only they made a bull dog proof Elizabethan cone to stop future wounds lol! If you are hesitant about this product, but it! It works for many purposes and it is true to size. My bully is a 60 pound red nose and the medium fits well even with the thick bandages.

Our 8 month old golden retriever is super active and loves running. One morning we noticed a slight limp and realized he was favoring a back leg and trying to keep weight off his foot. After cleaning paw pads, applying paw lotion, and rubbing up and down his leg looking for any sign of injury, I took him into the vet. Tucker limped away with a diagnosis of a CCL injury and strict instructions to give him no exercise, potty only on a leash, medicate, ice and heat the area, and to generally take it easy for two weeks. Knowing we have a 65 pound, active puppy, I decided to research braces. After researching for hours, I realized this brace had the most promising reviews and was also quite reasonable in cost.I felt a bit silly bracing my puppy's leg - not to mention, he can't exactly tell us if it's helping. Long story short, Tucker has taken to liking this brace to much he'll bring it over to us and gently wait while we Velcro it on with a big smile on his face! This leads me to believe it really is helping him and he knows it too.After a week of rest, medicine, ice/heat and wearing this brace for a couple of hours here or there when activity may be necessary, Tucker is no longer limping. I'm so thankful for this tool and know it played a role in getting him back up quickly!Sizing note: he has thick, athletic legs and I was worried about sizing and whether this would fit. I purchased the XL and it has plenty of room and is a bit large in some areas, but because of the design it is no issue at all and the Velcro holds the brace tight to his leg. If in doubt, I would recommend sizing up - we did with no problems in functionality.Hair in Velcro: Being a golden, we're used to a lot of hair everywhere, but the Velcro does collect hair. Not a problem here and causes no issues in use or discomfort - just looks a bit like it may grow legs and walk off.
