Living in Mt Shasta, there are a lot of wild creatures roaming the area. I wanted to see who was wandering through my backyard, and after some internet research, I decided to purchase the Maxdone Solar Trail Camera. I am really enjoying the images and videos so far. I have only had it for a week, but have captured images of raccoons, rabbits, skunks, cats, etc. The unit seems very solid, and was easy to set up. I love the solar power and it seems to keep the batteries at 100%. Connectivity with my phone makes viewing images a breeze. Great for viewing your own Wild Kingdom in your backyard!

So, the camera is truly as good as other claim. I finally was able to catch the filthy animal that's digging in my yard. Quality is great connection speed is ok, connection range is decent. I can connect from my bedroom upstairs while in my bed and watch what's going on in the yard. What I would love to have are 2 things: firstly, I'd love this camera to connect via home WiFi so I could check while being away from home and lastly, I'd love this camera to have a motion alert notifications. If those 2 functions would be included in the next generation then I'll buy 3 more at least.

The title says it all. The camera arrived quickly and the setup was perhaps the easiest I have ever done. I wish that all devices were this easy to get going. The camera works perfectly. The picture quality is great. Connects to my phone seamlessly. Gotta love it.

Some great aspects. A few bad ones make it a wash. Overall the image quality is good. It’s also the lightest trail camera I’ve owned, making it a good option for a backcountry camera. Additionally it’s less noticeable than most cameras, making it easy to hide.Now for the downsides. First off, the field of view is smaller than any other camera I’ve used. This means, it pretty much has to be pointed exactly at the animal to capture fun images, and it’ll take in far less of the scene. Second, the control panel is basically just an on/off switch located under the camera, covered by a rubber gasket. So you have to make all adjustments to settings with your phone in the app which you must download. The rubber gasket is flimsy and difficult to push back on after you set the camera to “on.”You’ll also get blurry pics of animals are moving even moderately. Like most game cameras, the quickest shutter speed is 1/30 second. With wider angle cameras, that works fine. With a narrower angle camera, the movement is more exaggerated and the same shot will be blurry. For animals standing still this isn’t an issue. It’s also not an issue for video.So, overall it’s a decent camera if you understand its limitations. It’s certainly not the most versatile, but its image quality (for slow moving animals and narrowly focused scenes) is better than most.

These were very easy to connect to via the app & the 1st pictures were excellent. Solar panel is keeping it at 100% battery, so no need to remove to recharge. We'll be picking up 3-4 more to expand coverage.

Camera was very easy to set up. Like the small size, so easy to carry 3 or 4 at a time in a small day pack, with plenty of room for other needed items. The solar charging is a time saver, as it remains charged, so need to change batteries, ever!

My husband set this camera up tonight and woo-wee, it works great. Crystal clear photo. Love how compact the camera is but it is really powerful!

The camera is very simple to use. Is easy to get started, and it has some really great mounting options. I like that it comes with an SD card and set up, literally took two or three minutes apart from mounting. The camera is a good one. The problem I had was with the relay and the information between the camera and the app. My camera is not set up very far from my house at all. But I never got any notifications even the notifications were turned on and that’s because the camera disconnected from the app about every minute or so. It was the most annoying thing ever. if I were to look through the gallery, it would literally disconnect every single minute, even if I was standing right next to the camera. I couldn’t watch any of the 15 second videos download them or do anything without reconnecting every minute. So while I had no problems with it during the daytime because I wasn’t trying to use it in the evening or the mornings when I did try and use it it was so frustrating! additionally, it would be really cool if the solar panel were able to be adjusted. Where I need to set my camera up, meant that the solar panel would never catch the sun which sucked. So if you have no problem with not getting notifications and you have no issues with trying to see the footage because you’re willing to take the SD card out and put it directly into your computer to check out what you’ve captured you’ll be fine. But if you were hoping for actual notifications and The ability to go through the gallery, save and view videos without interruption, this is not for you.
