I used this to interconnect the “fill” inlets in 3 water butts, so admittedly not “pond” as the item description says. All three short lengths of pipe have split this, their first, winter. I have enough pipe left over to replace them, but I don’t think it’s worth the effort - I will look for a better product.BTW, I live in Suffolk, not inside the artic circle.

You learn something everyday - Project rebuild of a pond feature left me short of 20 mm pond piping, so a quick order on Amazon would rectify the issue. Now I find there is pond pipe and pond pipe. My original was flexible with an internal wire coil that gave it strength and the ability to slide fit onto accessories. This pipe is totally plastic with less flexibility and when cut leaves a miss shapen end that is difficult to attach to accessories.That's not to say it is not suitable for other jobs such as cabling, but be aware of the different types available.

Supposed to be pond hose. It is actually wiring conduit for outdoor wiring so it won’t seal over a pump connector because it’s not the type of plastic that stretches when heated.

Smithers my butler passed me a message from Rupert my head gardener as I dont let any of the gardening staff into the mansion and prefer to shout instructions at them out of a window. I must say I almost sacked the head gardener when he informed me that my butt was leaking and he needed a new hose to stick up the hole. Fortunately my staff restrained me and explained that the fool was talking about the rainwater butt outside. I was forced to order a replacement overflow pipe. It was good quality, strong and fitted perfectly to the water butt so was the correct length and diameter. I will be deducting the cost of the hose from my maids wages as she dared to snigger when I mentioned my overflowing butt.
