I chose this Standkorb over the cheaper version because of the reviews relating to poor screws and difficulty in building. I thought this would be a better option. I am use to building Ikea and suchlike furniture so not a novice. My sister and her German (so knows what what) husband helped construct this. It took us 4 hours!! I thought the inclusion of a drill bit was unusual but after trying to line up the predrilled holes realised why. My advice is just drill new holes when you line up the parts. It makes life so much easier.The screw quality was questionable. Some at very peculiar angles and didn’t help with the construction.The pictorial diagrams are poor and much head scratching occurred. Seriously these need a lot of improvement.The finished article looks good. It is comfy to sit in and has various angled positions for the back.This is entirely my fault but I didn’t realise the lid does not fold completely over into a cube for storage. Some do but this doesn’t. A cover will be absolutely necessary and I am yet to buy one.I did have some damage (inside the packaging) and the company offered a part refund or for me to return the whole thing. I wasn’t going to contemplate this as it was part built by then. I accepted the part refund and this was dealt with quickly and courteously.All the parts were there - nothing missing.I think the fabric will need protecting from lotions and liquids as I have the plain version.I realise in writing this review there were No cuddle cushions included. Head cushions are there but no others. I did point this out when reporting the damage but the point got lost during negotiations. Not sure if I can be bothered to chase it now 😥.

I have always wanted a strandkorb and bought this following a holiday on the Baltic coast where they are a common sight. It is comfortable and much admired by friends and neighbours. It arrived quickly but the packaging was rather flimsy and the paintwork was slightly damaged, but nothing too serious. An extravagant purchase but fun, and worth every penny! It took around 2 hours to erect and it wasn't difficult to follow the pictorial instructions. Unfortunately the "cuddle cushions" were missing so I emailed Electronic Star who replied straight away that they would sort it out in a few days. They did, but were unable to supply the cushions so gave us a refund to cover the cost of replacements. I was very impressed with their service. I also ordered a cover for it, as I don't know how it would withstand a wet and snowy British winter.
