Fun Little Project and Useful Too.
Assembled this in about 1.5 hours. Everything went together pretty well. Speakers seemed a bit different from what was pictured but they worked fine. Radio and Bluetooth connections worked really well. I like that it has a commonly available inexpensive rechargeable battery and comes with a plugin charger. No complaints therefore 5 stars.

Impressed with the sound quality!
First, I have to say that if you're looking for a cheap Bluetooth speaker to throw in a bag, this probably isn't the best choice as the acrylic cracks easily. However, if you're handy and want to show off what you can do, this is a great choice. Considering this is a showpiece, I didn't expect it to sound great, but it compares well with a similar sized Bluetooth speaker. This one also has some extra features. With the included antenna, it becomes an FM radio. It also has an Aux input, which is good for MP3 players, old phones, and even as a guitar practice amp. It will also play MP3's off an SD card or USB drive. When I got this, I was a bit concerned, as it's not obvious how to assemble it and the instruction sheet didn't show how to do it. Then I saw the QR code. That links to VERY thorough instructions. I used a dab or two of hot glue on the speakers but otherwise followed the directions. Here were the biggest challenges:1 Speakers. I first hot glued the speakers from behind the chrome rings. That won't fit. What you need to do is follow the directions, put the speaker in the ring from the front, then put the grille over it to hold it in.2 - I kept the paper on the acrylic as long as I could to keep from scratching and smudging the acrylic. If you assemble it with the paper on, you'll eventually disassemble it to get all the paper off.3 - Smudges. It takes some care not to get greasy fingerprints inside. The included microfiber cloth helps.4 - Screws. These are difficult! You need to put the tiny nut in a slot cut in the acrylic, put the screw in the other part, and tighten. It is VERY easy to drop the nut inside the enclosure. It's possible, just take your time. Tweezers would have helped. This uses a standard BL-5c rechargeable battery, with a nice battery door on the bottom if you want to change or replace the battery. It includes a 4.2V power adapter, as well as a USB cable. I haven't used the USB cable but I wouldn't until verifying it has a 4.2v regulator. Charging a Li-Ion battery directly from 5V is not ideal. The protection circuit SHOULD keep the battery safe but it's far from ideal for charging. This might be an ideal speaker to put a small solar panel inside to charge the battery.Soldering was easy, only about 8 or 9 connections. Be careful and quick soldering to the battery holder as it's ABS plastic and will melt easily if you take too long soldering the wires. As long as you have nimble fingers and/or tweezers, I can recommend this kit!

Perfect Weekend Project for Tinkering Hobbyists
This ICStation kit took me back to the old days of grabbing kits from the local Radio Shack. As a 40-year-old hobbyist, it was a nostalgic and enjoyable weekend project. What I Liked:Educational: Good for learning and practicing soldering. It's been a while, but this kit got me back in the groove.Sound: Not audiophile-level, but decent enough for a self-assembled speaker.Functionality: FM, Bluetooth, MP3 – all in one! The AUX and SD card support is a bonus.Battery: Uses common batteries, so replacing won't be a headache. What Could Be Better:Instructions: Not bad, but could be clearer, especially for those not too familiar with soldering electronics devices.Assembly: Lots of tiny parts. Kept my glasses on for this one.All in all, a solid purchase for a weekend project. Might grab another for my kids. If you're into DIY and some fun soldering, give it a go.

What a fun kit!
The media could not be loaded. What a fun project. Not very difficult. It took about an hour to solder and assemble. Read the instructions front to back first then follow them to the letter and you will have no issues.I really love the FM radio part. The speakers sound better then I thought they would. They sound great!Great project for a beginner. Not a ton of soldering and a very rewarding project when you are done.

Quality control of circuit board should be improved.
The sodering of pins on on/off switch was poorly made and with a lot of trouble redone for it to work properly. The antenna fell apart when stem pulled to open, it is broken.

not as shown in description
The ilastrations / pictures of the project radio show it to be made of a clear "lexan-type" plastic, which is what makes it cool, and the REASON I ORDERED IT. The actual item has a case/box made of pressed brown board! Unfortunately, I am out of time, as this is a gift, and must accept it. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS PURCHASE.

I can hear clearly now
A great project that provided excellent results. Just follow the directions and in no time you can enjoy great sounds. The only part that proved any issue, but not much of one, was putting the bolts on the screws, but not a show stopper.
