Wish it was smoother
Out of the box, it was very dry. I'm experienced at reel lube jobs though, so I got to work. When done, the everything felt smooth and ready to go. However, on the water I still experience the occasional dry sensation when reeling slowly. I'm pretty sure I'm feeling the lack of a bearing in the reel knob (and indeed there isn't one). A bit of grease on under the knob seems to help.Onto the good things. It holds more than an adequate amount of 0.4 PE line. It looks good on my Shimano Soare BB Ajing. It's lightweight. The drag is LOUD; it positively SHRIEKS when a fish takes line.

This is a well built reel and a value for the price.
I bought this reel to use for finesse fishing and it fit my needs. It’s light weight, smooth and quality construction.

Lightweight
This reel is light and feels strong. I have yet to use it, but it feels good in my hands and reels smoothly. I did notice that it does not have an anti-reverse switch. I rarely use it, but those that do will want to keep that in mind. I will try to update again when I get it out on the water.

Finesse fishing reel
Recently converted to finesse fishing. Love this reel for bluegill, perch, crappie and bass

Ok, not great.
Had this reel out 3 times, long days fishing. The reel is smooth, but a little noisy. The spool is slightly loose which I believe causes the noise. I also have 2 of the regular Zephyrs that I fished with all last summer. I am semi retired and work 3 days a week. I fish ALOT. My regular Zephyrs are half the price, just as smooth, and not near as noisy. My regular Zephyrs are also 1000 models. Casting the 2 different models seems to be the same to me. So if I were to buy another Zephyr I would most definitely save myself some money and buy the regular Zephyr. I build custom rods for myself and my friends and family. That’s what I have my reels on.

This reel is very smooth and casts like a dream.
The drag is super smooth.Better than expected, highly recommend it. Very light weight and smooth. This is one you shouldn't pass up!It casts well has a solid bail click and smooth retrieve. When fish were caught, the drag performed very well. I always felt in control of the fish when playing and landing. Nice job KastKing
