Majohn P136 Piston Fountain Pen Extra Fine Nib with Box, Red Resin Writing Pen Set

Superior Quality, outstanding value! I got lucky and received an old moonman nib. It's a joy to write with. One of the smoothest steel nibs I own. The fulfillment was quick as well. I'll order again.

I had some experience with the brand, as I had purchased before the A1 and the Black Forest, both great writers. However when I got it, in spite of the great built quality and solid feel when writing, there was an issue with the nib. It looked slightly misaligned and it was scratchy when moving from left to right. I tried re-cleaning the nib, writing a few pages to break in the nib but the issue persisted. I contacted Amazon but they indicated to contact the seller. Upon contacting the seller they offered to send a replacement nib, which arrived in five days from China. The nib arrived without any issues, well packaged. It was easy to replace by just rotating it to the right. Once cleaned and inked it was surprisingly great writing, very smooth, with a lot of ink flow. If there are any updates I will post them here for those who are curious about the durability of the fountain pen.

The weight, fit and design is great but cap don’t post well. It a wet writer but to be fair it’s just not a pen for me.

My cap definitely posts… I guess some people got a defective one. I got this in light blue with a stub nib, it’s a great cheap pen! Very smooth. Does best with wet inks. Mine does say ‘Moonman’, not Majohn. Piston filler is superb!!! Holds a TON of ink compared to a converter! I’d recommend.

This pen, which is obviously influenced by the Montblanc 146, has a very high build quality with the exception of a flaw that I find both inexplicable and annoying—the cap won’t post. Since similar pens such as the Montblanc and the beautiful Wing Sung 629 post well, I see no excuse for a cap that simply falls off the back. That having been said, the medium nib I chose writes very smoothly with a nice wet medium line, and inverted with a fine line. In other words, this is a very nice pen, but with a caveat that may or may not be important to you.

I have several of these and while I like how they write, every single one has developed a crack in the barrel near the piston knob. This was very disappointing to discover.

The material, writing experience and filling mechanism of this pen are all top quality, surpassing many pens, even some more expensive pens.The pen is larger than most pens. It is long and thick making it easy to hold for long periods of time. I found I did not need to post the cap.

this pen writes beautifully and looks great. i really love it. want more.
