Got my old girl's attention
My 16-year-old little old lady cat spends most of the day sleeping. I know she needs some mental stimulation but, with her arthritis and general brain fog from needed medications, I've been kind of at a loss as to what might engage her interest.Yesterday, I charged this bird toy up and gave it a nudge to show her how it works. She bit it a couple of times before losing interest, so we put it away. This afternoon, she was face rubbing the box it came in, so we put the toy out again. She's been going back to it every couple of minutes for about 20 minutes now, shaking it to make it flap. While she's not playing with it vigorously like a kitten, it's great to see her interacting with a toy at her age and condition.I was afraid the chirping and flappy wings might alarm her or hurt our ears, but it's relatively quiet. Note, the bird doesn't hop or skittle around aside from little jerks caused by the flapping wings. Whatever it's doing seems to have reawakened her hunter instincts for the moment, though. I doubt she'll stay interested for long, so we'll put it away for a while when she's tired of it. I think it would be ideal for a younger cat to burn off some of that kitten energy. For me, it's been worth it to watch her play with something, even if she never looks at it again.

Finally - a toy she will play with on her own!
I have a very high energy cat that requires a lot of exercise. Until this little birdy arrived, all of the exercise she was getting required my involvement. We're talking at least an hour a day or she will become mischievous and destructive. I've tried lots of different electronic toys, but she didn't like any of them. Most of them move constantly or too fast. This one moves and chirps and then stops until she interacts with it. I wasn't even able to fully charge it and she was trying to snatch it off the counter. Looks like I'm going to have to stock up!

He Wasn't Impressed
Judging from the reviews, I expected my cat to be thrilled with this toy that does have 3 flapping modes that it goes through—fast, faster, & one that pauses & resumes flapping. But it spends most of its time lying belly up on the floor as I've shown. Alexander is only 2 years old & loves playing with toys, especially crinkle balls, plastic springs, & 2 mylar-winged dragonfly wands that he destroyed in short order. But he doesn't do much more than watch the sparrow before he swats it, turns it on its back, & walks away. Perhaps if it caught his attention by running around on the floor for a bit before the flapping started, it would be more of a challenge for him. Btw, if you pick it up by its head it won't trigger the flapping & chirping.Perhaps Alexander is a different sort of cat—silvervine held no appeal for him either & he didn't go crazy for a fast-moving laser dot either. I've rated it 4 stars, though, because there's nothing wrong with the toy itself which appears to be made & is holding up well, & charges properly unlike the 1st one that arrived.

Feral cat loves it
TL;DR my semi-feral cat loves the toy. Feathers on the tail won't last but the rest of the toy seems fairly durable. My cat is semi-feral, a rescue who was abandoned then picked up by a shelter and eventually adopted by myself. After almost 7 years together now he's great but he gets moments where the feral takes over and he start running around the house like a crazy person. When I lived in a suburban neighborhood he was an outside/inside cat that would play around the neighborhood and had free access to be able to go outside whenever he wanted without any real danger. Now I've moved into a much more rural wooded area with things like bears, foxes, coyotes, skunks, dogs, etc and it's not safe to let him have free access to the outside. This has made the move much more difficult as now some of his more destructive habits have returned and I am doing what I can to alleviate those habits. He doesn't like alot of toys, he'll play with them for a few minutes and then wont touch them. He loves this toy, as soon as I turned the toy on the chirping activated his hunting instincts and he went for it and played with until the battery died(I had just pulled it out of the box and turned it on). The feathers did not last but the rest of the toy still works great even with him playing with it roughly, chewing it, scratching and kicking it as well as me tossing it around the house to engage him a little more. The toy isn't very big, about the size of the average bird you'd see around the neighborhood, but that works in it's favor in my opinion. My one complaint is that I did not see a USB-C cable to charge the toy in the box, I have some to charge my wireless devices so it's not a huge problem but does suck that it's not included.

Yes, it's that good. Your cat will love it!
I bought this toy for my cat about two months ago. He is an inside cat with no playmates and tons of energy... after a frustrating journey burning through $8-$15 toys I decided on this Potaroma Flapping Bird... let me tell you.. game changer. It encourages your cat to be active and play while keeping them company when you can't be home. He loves pouncing on it, hiding from it, then surprise attacking it. So much fun for him and for me to watch! Haha. 10 out of 10 DO RECOMMEND.

It was fun until it wasn’t
I charge the product with the USB cord. My cats played for it for a couple hours. They loved it. I tried to recharge the product. It didn’t work. I tried again. It still didn’t work. The cats now just play with it without it moving at all. I would recommend buyer used caution when purchasing just because of the fact that it doesn’t last very long.

This is the cutest toy ever!! My cat loves to play but picky when it comes to toys, I got this little chirping bird that flaps it wings... Precious plays with this one by far longer than any other toy I have purchased thus far.. Thank you...

Best toy EVER!
This is by far our cats favorite toy. They love it. The charge lasts a very long time since it flaps when touched. They take turns making it flap and it is so much fun to watch!
