Fantastic solution for white backgrounds
I love this background. Truly. Easy to assemble. Far easier to use than fighting with a typical background stand to make it stand up always an issue for me, at least) and stay up with a heavy 12-foot roll of paper on it. Easier to transport in a sedan than a 12-foot roll of white paper. Easy to pop a light in both sides and have an evenly lit background. And, best of all, far, far easier to get WHITE right in camera than having to spend a lot of time photoshopping marks (and/or crinkles) off a white paper background. 6x7 is a great size (although you do need room to work with it to do full body shots). I'm glad I didn't order the even larger one or I probably would need assistance setting it up, etc.My only criticism of it (and it's slight) is that, try as I have, I cannot get it to fold up to fit completely back into the bag it came with. I can get it part way collapsed and into the bag enough that I can put it in the trunk of my car to transport, so I can live with that one issue. While this wasn't an inexpensive tool, it has saved me immeasurable time and aggravation and made me enjoy lighting a white background. Bravo.

Winning or not?
ok... so i buy the 6x7, i have it and the bag had stress tearing in the seams, one of the ties were missing, and the front appeared a little too wrinkly for my liking. So I planned to return it, because I bought new, not used. This was in early January, they said the replacement wouldn't ship until sometime in April. I said that wasn't acceptable, so they refunded about $100. I thought that was suitable, so I said ok. Refund came along fine, no problems. Then I measured it. Turns out they sent me an 8x7... so my experience turned out ok, and I got the largest model for around the price of the smallest model. :) but I love this thing! I was able to cover what I paid, in one night of selling photos in the nightclub. It's big, it attracts attention, and it helps me put out a product similar to what I put out in my studio. So I guess it is a win...

Expensive and does not function. without 2 lights.
Works great! As a backdrop needs two light. Maneuverability is good. Wish it came with velcro on all sides and end so you could put protective panels on the fabric to keep it clean.

Great item
The hilite is super easy to use for high key looks. You can achieve this with paper backgrounds, but it is a great alternative for photographers who have limited studio space. It lights very even and allows your model to get closer to the background without shadowing or need for separation space between themselves and the bg.I tried a friend's hilite and was hooked.I had gone to amazon (my go to) to purchase it, but found it was 200 dollars more than a well known photography gear site so I guess this sale will be going elsewhere.Still a great item, and totally recommendable.

Travel studio
The Lastolite 6x7 is great background (have the smaller size also with the stand). Very versatile product, I have used inside the studio and outside also. For outside use you need to anchor the four corners to the ground (extra parts). Lighting up the hole surface is tricky but not impossible, even with two strobes (Lumo-Pro 160). You need at least guideline 140 or up, to do this.Light and strong travel pack. I have travelled oversee with this background with no problem.I have found two cons on this product. 1. Wrinkles on the surface. Specially at the corners (extra time at the computer). 2. Hard to clean surface (white). I have tired everything, without much success.

A must have for high key and cutouts
So many uses we used it for volume photos. The setup is super fast takedown is a little bit harder at first. Excellent quality in photos as well if your cutting people out or doing high key photography this is a must in your kit.

The Light Mattress
I've been referring to the Lastolite HiLite as my "Light Mattress" based on its appearance, and I must say, this is the best purchase I've made this year for my home studio. It would be close to impossible to reproduce the quality, softness, and evenness of a solid white background, lit from the front with several lights, that this beauty achieves with only one strobe pumped into its side. It is free-standing, and I've even been using it as an auxiliary backdrop stand to clip one or two backdrops to. It buckles, but only slightly from the extra weight. Lastolite, in my experience has always produced very functional, albeit pricey, products. This HiLite is no exception, and if you have the budget for it, it will serve any studio well.

Wonderfull addition to my photos
Pros*Very easy to fold once you find the right youtube video (not the lastolite tutorial!)*Lightweight, distributes light evenlyCons:*It's still a little over priced, even in the $400 range*Mine came with lots of creases and wrinkles (NOTE: wrinkles will not show up when you use a flash properly)*MAJOR CON:* I lost the flimsy brackets that hold the unit upright- Lastolite never replied to emails or calls for a replacement.TIP: Sew a pocket on the bag to hold the brackets? (I do not put them inside, as this can tear the background)
