Essentials Cover Valet CV400, Spa and Hot Tub Cover Lifter

Excellent, so easy to use, my back is happy!

The hardware is very robust and well made. Our spa is a small two person unit but the corners are very widely rounded so the standard side brackets were way too short to have the lifter work properly. I ordered the extended brackets and the company was very responsive and shipped the new brackets immediately (at addition nominal cost). Once I mounted the new brackets so that the lifter was positioned properly past the rounded end of the spa cabinet and cover the installation went very smoothly. The lifter works quite well. I don't know how well it would work with a large spa with a very wide cover since the attachment of the lifter to the cover is only partially attached to the sides of the cover. There is no continuos bar connecting the two sides of the lifter. It works fine for us but might be a litttle wobbly if used with a very wide cover. The locking gas shock at first appeared to be improperly designed but then we realized that the fact that the upper tube is deliberately made short so that when the gas tube is fully extended it falls outside of the lower tube so that the cover cannot accidentally close. Once the upper tube is realigned with the lower tube the cover closes gently and safely. I would recommend this product.

This is so much better than trying to open and close the spa in the snow. I would absolutely recommend one to anyone that owns a spa. Super simple to install. Just be sure everyone knows how to use it before you let them loose. My daughter didn't realize you had to push a button to lower the cover and broke the lifter for me. That was fun to fix in 15° weather.

I installed the product with a brand new cover. It works very well, until there is a slight breeze when in the open position. On the second use, we were in the spa, when a light breeze swept across the cover in the open position. the side support bracket bent like Playdoh. I sent a request to the Amazon Vendor that sold the product and did not receive the courtesy of a response. I cannot recommend this product nor the supplier.

I wish I had purchased when I first purchase my hot tub. The valet cover is easy to install and easy to operate. I am very please with this purchase and highly recommend the product.

Great item. It was easy to install, took me about 90 min, directions were very easy to follow. I have a sundance hawthorne spa (8'x8') - my 75 year old mother in law and my 12 year old daughter had no problem opening and closing the cover.I also need to commend Cover Valet for excellent customer service that goes above and beyond.

At first I really liked the way the lifter works, but after a few days the 'fingers' put too much pressure on my cover causing it to rip at the seams. Then within a week of install the lifting piston dislodged from its ball joint and it has not stayed in place since.The lifter was easy enough to install, but placement on the spa was somewhat confusing. I thought I was purchasing a unit that mounts to my deck under the spa. This mounts on the sides of the spa.

I purchased for my son & tried to contact someone several times....no one called me back. The shocks are too strong for the size of my son's hottub......heat escapes

Arrived on time in good condition. Installed with basic tools in about an hour in pretty much dark. My cover is 85x95 and the spa has 8 inch round corners. It lifts and lowers perfectly. Love it. 5 year warranty is nice. My wife had no issue lifting the top.

Note easiest in the world to install, but step by step instructions if followed work just fine. Works well this unit was recommended for my 8 foot cover as it requires larger lifters.

I highly recommend that you don’t buy this cover lifter. Mine lasted less than a year and destroyed my cover.The wind forced the cover down one day and broke one of the arms. The poor design causes damage to your cover seems because the weight of the cover is held by two 8 in spans on each side.

Product is great. It has made using the hot tub enjoyable again. It's so easy to operate and another benefit is it keeps the lid in place. No more shifting the lid when it's closed. It was challenging to put together. I would say that it's nice to have two people installing it, especially if there isn't access to all sides of the tub. There is a lot of adjustment to each side and going g back and forth around the hot tub can be a headache.

I was told that covers were hard to install

I don't like how it pulls up on the cover seem when closed. Otherwise a decently made product.

It worked well for the first ten times, now the second arm gets hung up and it is harder to close. Still better than not having one.
