Kitchen Devils S8602024 Lifestyle Rollsharp Sharpener, Multi-Colour

I can't say that I've owned many knife sharpeners in the past, and I can't comment on its effectiveness with very expensive, high quality knives, but I can't find any faults with this for my needs. It's easy to use, the instructions are clear and obvious, and it comes just as described. It sharpened both my kitchen devil and other brands of knives well and breathed new life into some of the more blunt ones.I'd happily recommend this to anybody looking for a reasonably priced manual knife sharpener for average day-to-day use. If you're looking for something to sharpen expensive knives then you might need to look somewhere else, but this was perfectly good for my needs.

My thirty-odd years old 'steel' on which I've kept our meat carving knives sharp over the years, at last began to show it's age by reduced efficiency. The 'Kitchen Devils Lifestyle Rollsharp Sharpener' has taken the 'steels' place. Initial thoughts, it has done the job and my two carvers are razor sharp again. It is a sturdily built tool and should last years I would think.

My husband thinks this knife sharpener is easy to use and it certainly make it easy to carve the meat.

Sold with a ten year guarantee! Seems reasonable enough. The instructions do not say whether you should use water in it or not. I have used it without water, but slowly so as not to de-temper the blade. The blde was quite sharp before use and it is sharper now, but it won't pass the paper test. Kitchen Devils are quite sharp in the first place, so when they dull down this will restore them to good sharpness. However I don't think it will bring them up to Samurai sword standard.

This is not the perfect knife sharpener, but it is close to being that.It is cheap, durable, sturdy and very easy to use.For the professional people out there this will not be what you should be searching for. Now if you are a regular person that just wants to give a new edge to a blunt knife in an easy and almost effortless way, then look no further.Now, if your knives are severely dented, rusted or very damaged blade edge, then you need domething with 2 or more sharpening wheels, with coarser options.

Easy to use and works well - would have been nice if it worked with serrated blades.

Very quick to sharpen - very little loss of material over several years much better than other sharpeners which rely on micro shaving the edge to sharpen causing a quicker loss of blade material.
