Exactly as described, but almost useless - 2mm pitch not the usual 2.54mmHence you can't use them on veroboard or breadboards. The seller didn't say that they were suitable for prototyping and talks about 'great for PCBs'. Yes great for PCBs if you design your own and use a 2 millimetre pitch. But then most hobbyists don't, and most electronics companies don't buy headers 10 strips at a time.Presumably the reviewers who reviewed these so enthusiastically either haven't used them yet - or put them to a non-hobby use.

These were all 0.1” male and female headers. The male headers are fine, easy to break to the required length and easy to solder.The female headers were completely useless, due to the fact that they could not be soldered. I have an adjustable professional soldering iron which goes well over 450, but these little bad boys would never take the solder. In the end the plastic simply meltes. I guess this is a batch problem. Just be warned.However for the money, and the fact that the male headers work they still get 2 stars.

It is is normal with 0.1in headers that the female part does not snap. They can be separated, but you will always lose one socket. If you simply try to break them the plastic will crack in a random manner and the chances are you will lose more than one. They are easily cut with a small hacksaw, and slightly less easily with a craft knife. Personally I use a Dremel cutting disc, which also serves to tidy up the cut ends.No matter how you look at it this Chinese offering offering represents excellent value - you're getting ten for less than the postage alone would cost in the UK.

Bought as stock for future projects, but on reading some of the comments, I checked them all out and they were all found to fit even as 40 pin width into standard 0.1" Vero or strip board. Only one of the socket strips was tight but found to be due to a bent pin and was soon corrected. I have many of these in use connecting various own project boards to my Model Railways. I also have angled pin versions and coloured versions.

Could be a random error, but the pins I received have 2 mm spacing not 2.54 mm. Other than being completely the wrong size, I don't really see any problem with what you get in terms of quality or value. Just a shame that they aren't actually what I ordered. If size is not important these would be fine, but they don't actually seem to be at all compatible with the 2.54 mm pin system

Recommended if the price is right. Just remember that breaking them down in smaller groups brings its own hassles and are best used during prototyping

Single row header with female partner. Works well, and cuts well, but just be sure not to slowly cut the header with cutters, you have to be quick! Otherwise it gets too brittle and snaps in the wrong place. (like all headers!)
