This tool has been a great addition to my garage, and has already paid for itself over a couple of months. The unit is fairly intuitive, and reads the information easily and quickly. I've used it to read raw data to troubleshoot issues that don't throw out a code. We recently got a used 2016 4Runner with only one key, and discovered that this tool can program transponder keys, saving us almost $500 vs. the dealer. I don't know if I will re-subscribe after the initial subscription ends - I've heard you don't need to renew, you just won't get updates. I've used it on a 2023 Porsche Macan, 2003 Tacoma, 2014 Civic, 2016 4Runner and 2025 Tacoma with no issues.

Item was delivered quickly and as described, after some googling and you tube videos' this scanner will end up saving you some cash by self diagnosing fault codes and suggesting resolution and or reset/clear options, runs active tests and is much more advanced than my knowledge of the vehicle but it will definitely give you insight on what the mechanics need to be laser focused on instead of throwing money at an issue and hoping it works or over charging you for unnecessary repairs, I have a 2013 GL 550 full of sensors and all the bells and whistles so this scanner is handy for sure

This thing is awesome.A decade ago a tool of this quality would have run you about $3k.It’s got features to diagnose and monitor every piece of equipment on your vehicle.Might be a bit too much for casual mechanics, but I love the abilities it provides me.

The AUTEL MK808S is not your old dumb orange OBDII Scanner.Using this device for the first time is somewhat a pain without a manual.It will take me a while to figure out most of the features.THERE IS NO USER MANUAL – but it comes with:--- Quick Reference Guide. (1 pg. - 3 diagrams and a QR Code to website).- Quick Start Guide. (8 pg. 5”x7.5” color fold-out). …Get out a magnifier to read it.--- The Quick Start Guide will suffice if you can read the small print.YOU ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER THE DEVICE BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT.- YOU CAN REGISTER BY: (1) Online at AUTEL’s web site, or (2) by scanning the QR Code from your phone, or (3) inside the MK800S device after you have connected to WiFi.<> I prefer the big screen and keyboard of a computer to register.(Later I can then enter my log-in/password on the device)- You will create a log-in and give them your information. Actual address is not required.*** There will be several security checks --- this is a good thing for your protection. ***- Then, you will need the SN from the back of the device, and you will be required to go into the “ABOUT” on the phone to get a pass code to complete registration.- Then it will require you to do a validation code to your email and-or phone.*** Once done with the registration, it will show “My Devices” and a screen to pay: $125. You can ignore this. It is for Year 2 subscription renewal, and is only necessary to get new updates after Year 1.That said, install all the updates before the 1st year is done.

Absolutely a must have for mechanics and hobbyists alike. Pulls up codes and allows you to search them directly. Will pull your vin so you don't have to input all your vehicles information. So many functions to play with.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 that I used this on. I originally used a code reader to identify the check engine light but found I only received generic information. After deciding to get this (on sale at the time) I was able to properly diagnose the issue my truck was having. The transfer case would only work in 4WD. The codes I was receiving were CAN-C communication issues from the code reader. This scan tool identified exactly what was transpiring in the drivetrain computer. (FAD was not disengaging)It also allowed me to see and clear all the codes in the system that had popped up because of the original fault. This saved me thousands in shop costs and hundreds in other parts if I had just tried chasing the problem.The software is easy enough to use but not very fast.With my Ram I had to buy an adapter cable in order to do anything aside from read the faults. (apparently it is a Chrysler thing)

I gave it to my husband for his birthday. And he loved it. He was able to get a job that he could not do with his old scanner

The first delivery was sent to the wrong address, I have no idea where it went, However Amazon did right by the miststake and sent another over right away.The scanner arrived that afternoon, I had to update the file for the cars I own, The auto Vin works great and the so far it does everything it say it will do.I wish the DTC cable was longer, The one that comes with the unit is too short to be under the hood with you if you are doing injector testing or anything like that.Overall Im very pleased with the scanner so far.
