A MAJOR shift for Mg supplements! No side effects and got off ReMag. Best product for me in years!
The big issue with magnesium: we need it, yet for most of us it causes intolerable side effects.ReMag:I started on ReMag (a liquid Mg) years ago. Dr. Dean's book sold me on taking Mg and it's helped. I did try a Mg pill supplement then and sure enough, major abdominal pain. But with ReMag I was able to get off of Rx anti acid reflux medication. Her ReMag liquid worked great without pain. BUT it ended up being more inconvenient than I would ever have realized. It's hard to remember to slowly dose throughout the day (I had timers going) and you can't carry a drink to some places. Even worse, if I missed it, got too much at once, or didn't get enough in EVERY day, my body would let me know in bad ways.Jarrow:Finally Jarrow solved this and I can take magnesium pills without the huge inconveniences mentioned. I decided to try it out and was able to smoothly transfer over to Jarrow without much issue. And absolutely NO side effects like the typical abdominal pain of other products.I cannot recommend this product enough if you're looking for a magnesium supplement without side effects or like me you use ReMag but can't stand the the high maintenance of it.It is helpful to know that if your body is magnesium depleted, starting on Mg may cause weird side effects like an anxiety attack. It's not the fault of the Mg product, it's due to having too little Mg for too long and the body needs time to adjust to getting it. Vitamin D is the same way. And being on anti acid reflux medication results in low Mg & D.Dr. Dean's book thankfully explains all this.

Bed time sleep stack
Great for sleepy time. Be sure to cycle on and off to give yourself a little break. A staple of my night-time stack. I don't take them during the day, only a couple an hour or so before bed. Been an MG fan for a while now. Wake up feeling good and not groggy. Works great for me. Ymmv.

Reliable Brand and Effective Magtein Supplement—Great for Sleep and Relaxation
I've always trusted Jarrow Formulations for their quality and reliability, and their Magtein magnesium supplement continues to deliver on that reputation. Magtein itself is fantastic—it noticeably helps me unwind at night, ease away the stress of the day, and promotes restful sleep. I've found it particularly effective for calming my mind after too much caffeine or a stressful day, as it reduces glutamate overstimulation, which can leave me feeling anxious or wired.Unlike some other brands, Jarrow thoughtfully includes a moisture-absorbing packet inside, helping preserve freshness and potency. Pricing is quite decent considering the brand's reputation and the proven quality of the product.Overall, if you're seeking reliable Magtein at a fair price from a trusted brand, Jarrow Formulations won't disappoint. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a gentle yet effective way to support calmness and better sleep quality.

Smart Magnesium
L-Threonate is the only magnesium that crosses the blood brain barrier. I don’t know if it made any of us smarter, but I’ll give anything a shot that wards off dementia and other unpleasant brain ravages. They’re gel caps, so are easy to take.

Not My Mag Bag
I don’t want to give this product a bad review but I can’t give it a 4 or 5 star review either. I’ve been researching and using supplements for both myself and my wife for the last 3 decades. In fact, being a member of alternate health forums has increased my interest and levels of research to what some people might consider obsessive. Here’s what I have to say about this new magnesium l-threonate discovery. First of all I highly doubt it would make any difference whether it was Jarrow (who happens to make excellent supplements), Source Naturals or any other distributor of magnesium l-threonate. I’ve been supplementing with transdermal mag oil (magnesium chloride) for over a year now and that’s probably all that I need and the best way to increase magnesium levels. But I came across all these wonderful recommendations for this new molecule design for magnesium and how it, “crosses the brain barrier”(= make me smarter). First of all, thinking about it, if the magnesium gets into your blood, that blood is eventually going to end up passing by the brain station and our physiology is designed to absorb minerals the way they are needed to function optimally. What seems to be true is that the l-threonate molecule is more powerful; but it doesn’t do anything additional for my brain. What it does more powerfully than other magnesium molecules is to saturate my blood and gut tissues with more magnesium than is needed, thus leading to very loose bowels and an excessive number of trips to the loo. I’m usually happy with 2 to 3 trips a day, but after I began the this product, just 3 weeks or so back, I suddenly began having 15 to 20 trips daily. That’s far too many trips for me and I speculate, anyone else. I’m only embarrassed I didn’t figure it out sooner. In my wife’s case it gave her very unpleasant feelings in her gut. I tend to think this form of Mag is hype. I don’t believe it’s better than other quality forms of magnesium such as glycinate, citrate etc. I stopped using this l-threonate just 2 days ago and I immediately adjusted to a normal number of visits to the loo and solid stools.I’m going to shift back to my main reliance on my Mag Oil (magnesium chloride) which has not created the aforementioned problem and which also has been very helpful in softening tight muscles as well. As far as it improving my brain science I did not experience any change with mag l-threonate at all. I take both Ginkgo Biloba and Vinpocetine for improved mental clarity and for me they happen to be excellent.
