You're the One That I Want

I was pleasantly surprised with this book! Before purchasing I'd read dozens of mixed reviews, but eventually decided to buy it as I thought the premise sounded good.. I'm so glad that my initial opinion hasn't changed!I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would definitely read it again!**** SPOILERS BELOW ****The reason I've given this 4 instead of 5 stars is because of 2 reasons..First is .. the copy I've got (which I purchased Brand New directly from Amazon), had a lot printing/spelling errors in. When reading, my mind would skip & automatically correct as I read, not disturbing my flow, but it was something that couldn't be ignored. My reading experience of the story wasn't disrupted though.Second is .. At a few points in the book, Maddys constantly overthinking & secondguessing the same thing over and over. And even though I completely understand the reasoning behind this, I feel like that a little too much focus was on this. It did get irritating after a couple of times, with the amount of focus it had got (considering there were other as important {if not, MORE important} things going on).However, having said that, I would definitely read this book again! Highly recommended!!

My Children bought this book for Mothers day for me as I'd read one of Giovannas other books and enjoyed it. This book really sucked me in and had me gripped. A wonderful love story. I was hoping the ending was slightly different but I still enjoyed it.

I hadn't actually liked Giovanna's first novel Billy and Me or her third Dream a Little Dream but I'm always one to keep trying so I bought this a few days ago. I was pleasantly surprised! The story follows three friends as they go through life together. It was different to other stories I've read in that way, and I enjoyed it as many scenarios reminded me of my own childhood that took place in that time too! The writing style was lovely - I enjoyed the dual narrative. I was hooked from the beginning and read it all in one day!

The only reason I initially picked the book up was because I was intrigued. Being a McFly fan was the only reason I became aware of her as an author. How glad am I that I picked the book up. It is a real page turner that you will not want to put down. I was just so desperate to know what happened to the characters in the end.Having finished the book I have given it to my mum to read who will no doubt read it at the same speed that I did. I have since ordered her next book and can't wait to order Billy and Me. She is definitely an author to watch out for!I fully recommend her!

I really enjoyed Giovanna's first book Billy and me and was therefore very exciting to start this book. Even though I did like the story I was willing something more to happen between Maddy and Ben, I think this would have been much more exciting and gripping for readers but instead the storyline was very predictable and undramatic. I was also extremely confused with the paragraphs at the end of each age and the whole way through I thought this was Roberts point of view from the wedding speech but it in the end it turned out the be Ben! This made me frustrated and I had to go back and re-read each paragraph, thinking I had misinterpreted it but it still didn't provide me with any clarification. Any readers out there who understood this I would be really willing to hear from you as I'm still very confused! Even though I didn't enjoy this book as much as Billy and me I think Giovanna is an excellent writer and would still be willing to read her next novel.
