I needed more vise grip clamps for a big assembly job I was working on and decided to try these new fancier type. They lock on to the material well as you would expect but are much harder to remove than the original type with the lever. It’s even advertised that they are easier to remove but I now have eight of these that all perform in the same way. They still work, so I’ll keep them but I anticipate using only enough force to hold the material so that I don’t have to exert too much force to release them.

Not what the brand used to be. Will not hold a consistent clamping force. I have a pair or real Vice Grips that are 40 years old and work great. This pair is junk. I would totally expect that if I bought these from HF but Irwin should be ashamed putting their name on these. One day I will learn

This is a fine vise clamp. The smaller size works well for making knives, it's useful for a variety of applications. It gets a lot of use in my shop.

These pliers are not well made. They loosen with in the first placement so you constantly have to reset the set screw and once setting it they are far too stiff to open one handed.
