i'm using this as a desk fan to blow hot air from under my small computer, so noise was the major consideration. this has NO motor noise except the wooshing of air, which is exactly what i'd hoped for!another highly rated small fan had about a half-star lower rating than this one, so i got it because it seemed more compact for my purpose. but there was incessant light rattling, so back it went. i was gun shy now, wondering if a small fan can actually be noise free except for the air woosh...and this one answers that question in the affirmative.at highest setting it's a nice white noise, so i can turn down my thunder/raindrops white noise maker on my computer. but at a lower level it is verrry quiet, just having the woosh of air, which is noticeable as this does move a lot of air. if you don't appreciate the white noise of the higher setting, a low/moderate setting will be very quiet and enjoyable, while moving a decent amount of air even on low.very surprised at the quality of this, both in operation, and build. i just got it, so i can't speak to durability over time, but it feels and looks as if it was built to high specs. love it.

I didn't get this for aiming it at me.The biggest enemy of computer disks is heat. I have smaller fans aimed at a number of external drives just to keep them cool, and they've lasted much longer than most of their reviews have suggested.I noticed a hot spot of air building up behind my CPU once I started doing really disk intensive operations, like AI video upscaling.I wanted something bigger than the farm of little fans that I have on my makeshift server farm, as I wanted to cool a larger area of space, but still run it off of spare external USB ports I have.This works really well for the job. It has the normal low, medium and high settings, but also a breeze imitating variable speed. The variable speed creates an oddly soothing sound, and breaks the hot spot in a more effective way than just blasting air at it. Not sure why, but CPU temperature monitoring software seems to indicate this.I'm sure it'd be a little loud in a continuous setting right in your face, but in the right noisy physical work environment, air movement might be more important than noise level. Also, lower and the variable speed is generally adequate for home or general work environments, and if you're sweating to death, noise is your last concern.So, if you just want a trickle of air, this is probably not the right fan for you, but if you need something more robust but not as powerful as a box fan, give this a try.It's also pretty light on power consumption compared to a normal outlet fan. It does NOT hold a charge. It MUST be plugged into a USB port at all times to work.

I sleep hot and need air flow on my face to be comfortable. This mighty fan has been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Yellowstone, Sedona, Zion national park and kept me very comfortable. It is quiet, can hang anywhere and has 3 speeds plus off, but does use a usb plug. Good buy!

Perfect size fan for my IKEA Rudsta Wide DIY greenhouse cabinet. I'm only using the first speed setting as that seems enough for my needs. There is a vibration noise and gets louder with higher speeds and titlitng certain angles, can hear it through the closed cabinet. Otherwise good little fan and I'm hoping it will last be a while. Wouldn't purchase the same fan again though just because of the noise.

I bought this for my camper, as I can plug it into my 12 volt adapter and use my solar power. I use it mainly for when I have the heat on and want to help it circulate. So far it has been perfect for this purpose.

Ordered one of these, and it arrived in a smashed box making rattling and grinding noises. Returned it and was sent a new one and it has the same grinding and rattling, though to a lesser degree.We're done trying to get a decent product out of smartdevil. Just keeping it in case I need a fan where noise isn't an issue.Beyond those issues, the build quality feels nice.There's firm resistance to adjusting the angle. Not too much, but more than enough to stop it from moving on its own.The cable they give you is ~3 feet long, which is quite short for a fan.It makes this low-pitched droning noise. Little hard to ignore it, but I've had worse.She can move a good bit of air for being so small, even on the lowest setting.Overall, the cons outweigh the pros. I would not recommend this fan to anyone.

I have 3 of these- one on each side of the bed and one in my office at work. Small footprint, mountable, fairly quiet on low mode. My oldest one is about 3 years old now and still looks and works like new.

I have a desk in a hot/humid garage and this is the perfect little fan to have blowing in your face. There could be a little more difference between the fan speed settings, but for what it is it’s great.
