CHAPINInternational 6-8138 Replacement Part Shut-Off Assembly, Pack of 1

I purchased this trigger as a replacement to my Chapin backpack sprayer, which I purchased from someone who had left fluid in it in the winter and it cracked open. I got it for a steal because of that fact and the trigger was a open pack and got it reduced cost as well from Amazon. I literally just unscrewed it in about 10 seconds and reinstalled the exact fitted trigger line to the unit, pressurized it and it worked perfect. I could’ve spent more for the trigger handle with pressure gauge, but didn’t file near the gauge for the cost savings. No complaints and just note that you have to unscrew from the main hose line and be certain to drain every aspect of the hand pump and trigger and hoses if you’re storing in a freezing type environment and then it’s good to rinse it out have any herbicide or chemicals used anyways, pre Fall storage.. and lubricate trigger with some wd40 or similar or light oil/ grease. Very pleased with the pump that should’ve cost me around $300++new, for a simple repair, with only this new trigger handle 👍

My backpack sprayer was pumping up fine but as I traversed over the lawn between shooting weed killer at nasty weed patches the liquid was leaking from the nozzle leaving a streak of dead grass across my lawn.I disassembled the spring apparatus, cleaned it up, and reassembled it. Then the spring blew the whole thing apart! Time for new hardware. I ordered this part and replaced the original. Everything is working great now and I’m not killing healthy grass because of a leaky valve.
