National Geographic Kids Readers: Volcanoes

Great book for any age!
I actually purchased this used and it was in very good condition as I only paid a couple of pounds for it.Very formative book about volcanoes, nice glossy photographs and clear text, but wouldn't have expected anything less from National Geographic. It was such a nice book I saved it and wrapped it as part of my 8 years (then 7)step sons Christmas books; we have read it lots of times together (I have even read it on my own, it's a really good book as I knew very little about volcanoes)and looking at photographs he loves it and now know recites back to us from cover to cover.A must by for any child interested in these kind of topics.

Disappointed by size
This was much smaller than I expected and more like a magazine than a book. It was a booklet really and perhaps I should have read the description closer. A little disappointed.

A good visual introduction to volcanoes
I bought copies for my year 4 class as a basic introduction to volcanoes. It does not have lots of information but it does have glossy pictures with short explanations (as stated in my review of Earthquakes). It gives the children images of different volcanoes around the world and includes a map of the `ring of fire'. It is quite a short book but the images are very inspiring. It lacks text but really I think it is designed to engage children visually. It is suitable for lower school junior or less able upper school. I would definitely recommend it for the price (around £2.80).

Disappointing
A small little book. Was expecting A4. Not very long either. Buy something else.

A lightweight book
As others have said, it's a booklet/pamphlet rather than a book. Purchased for my 3 year ols niece who loves volcanoes, is a bit grown up for her but her mum reads it to her and she loves the photos.
