Great starter turntable
Bought for my son as he was getting into vinyl and using one of those briefcase style record player. The difference is night and day. It sounds great, its a good looking unit, feels sturdy enough and is simple to set up out box and has removable RCA cables. Only two minor gripes which are the fake counter balance (its pre calibrated) which is purely for show and the plastic platter. After making a big deal about an MDF cabinet at this price point a plastic platter seems a bit cheap, they could up the price £10 and ship it with a metal one it would be unbeatable for the money. But all things considered very happy.

Great turntable for the money
This was much better than I expected.Purchased to replace a small Bush turntable that did not fully support the record, hence mechanical noise on first few tracks. The TEAC TN175 appears to be punching above it's relatively cheap price. Very well package, nice looking product with a quality feel to the deck finish. The fully automatic tone arm is a feature I have never had before, it's great and accurately places the needle each time. No noticeable mechanical noise or hum, sound is crisp and rich, very pleased and impressed. Not sure how much I would need to spend to make it sound better, it sounds perfect to me and only cost £129!I am using the TN175 inbuilt pre-amp feeding into the AUX connection on a Denon Amplifier, this feeding Mission speakers. Sounds great. This is a great turntable that I am happy recommend.

So disappointed!
Purchasing from a company such as TEAC you expect a quality product. Sadly in this instance that's not the case. I'm replacing an old ION turntable which is getting tired and tatty. The sound quality on it was ok and once I put a new cartridge on it the sound was better. So, the TEAC was the replacement, or so I'd hoped. It arrived very well packed everything nicely protected. Once it was unwrapped I got it set up and on the first LP I tried it seemed to be running slowly. I stuck with the whole of one side but it didn't change. Then I looked at the reviews and many were saying the power supply wasn't up to the job. Not creating enough power to run the turntable properly. I borrowed some supplies from other electronics to try them. Whilst they improved it I found that the sound was very distorted by the turntable constantly slowing down then speeding up. I was almost getting seasick!TEAC I'm sure you're not worried about one bad review, but you seriously need to think about withdrawing this product from sale. It's put me off trying any of your other products.
