I have a whole house water filter and water softener. My pipes have no residue in them. Any water splashes in the kitchen or bathrooms never leave any residue anywhere. But for sure, when I first changed my Delonghi coffee machine filter after a year, which was 10 months after the recommended time :(, my coffee tasted noticeably better! I learned my lesson. Works in my coffee maker. My faucets have all had issues with the water here but my coffee maker is still working so these filters MUST be working.

These are a little more pricey but easy to set up. Used the last one for five months. After putting new new one in I didn't notice any difference in taste. Coffee maker works fine with these.
