Works with Macbook Pro 2017 (non-touch bar)
Used this adapter with this NVMe SSD (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q85PXRL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1). Just remember you’ll need to format the drive, otherwise the Mac won’t even recognize it when you boot it up. If you’re used to doing Command-R on start up and not getting any luck, you need to do Command-Option-R instead. The OS Recovery Mode will look “slightly” different, but you’ll be able to see all drives, then just Erase and format the drive, and then go to Reinstall macOS. If you’re still unable to find the drive, just turn off the Mac, take out the drive, put it back in, and try again.

this worked great however Im not sure if it was my OS download, installation or the new SSD set up itself that just drains my battery not, on full charge I get about 5 hours instead of 10 like I used to. overnight just on stand by it went from 100% to 70%. Will install my original back to see if there's any different.
