It replaced the coveted spot held by her favorite stuffed bunny, next to her in bed when she goes to sleep.Sammy the Bunny is not amused by all of this, either.Our Little Girl couldn't be happier about getting it. And her happiness means more to me than anything in the world. So even though I find this hamster to be unbelievably annoying, I'm so pleased that our Daughter loved her gift. Months back, my Wife and I had ordered our Daughter the "Gotta Go Flamingo." It's the interactive toy that poops on a toilet, and repeats everything you say to it, in a high-pitched voice. I was looking at other best-selling interactive toys, and came across this hamster. My Daughter walked by, intrigued by the pics of it on my computer. Then we started watching videos of it. She was sold. She absolutely had to have one. "I'll think about it," I told her. And like all Dads, I caved quickly, and ordered it.It comes in a nice, simple but giftable box. The battery panel is actually only half-screwed in. Which the manufacturer does on purpose. I actually found it a bit convenient, as far as getting it open without even having to look for a small screwdriver. It works perfectly fine. Anything you say to it, it repeats. I will admit that it was louder than I had expected. But then, that's one of the reasons why she likes it. I think the thing that drove me up the wall most, is that it repeats ALL SOUNDS. Not just spoken words. If I set something down near it, the sound gets replaced. If someone 10 feet away sneezes, it repeats it. This hamster doesn't take breaks. It hears all. And it repeats all. Loudly.Should you buy this hamster? 100% absolutely positively yes. Your kid will LOVE it. I'll never understand a child's fascination with this thing. But then, I'll never understand why children like drinking bathwater, wearing rain boots, eating only chicken nuggets, or splashing in puddles. It's fun. It costs less than twenty bucks. And it will put a smile on your child's face. Take it from another parent - one who actually hates this toy - add it to your shopping cart and buy it right now.

Got this for my 4yr old granddaughter. When I showed it to her she laughed and the hamster laughed back at her. Then she started saying 'What's your name?" Although it repeats back exactly what you say, sometimes it doesn't pick up everything and sometimes it is hard to understand and you just hear hamster squeak in-between the words. Most of the time it picks up everything perfectly. It just depends if there are other voices in the room at the same time. But that actually works better. Instead of perfect repeat everything, it is a squeaky hamster voice chatting back at you with hamster squeaks and with most of the words repeated. It took us 5 mins of listening to get used to the voice to understand it clearly. Overall great toy for giggles!

If you can get passed the hamster not repeating longer sentences, the toy has the potential to be the perfect gift. Truly a 3.5 out of 5. The material is very soft and of good quality. It's a cool toy for children who are into hamsters. I bought this for my nephew, and the entire family actually enjoyed it for a week or so. The hamster could repeat 2-3 words very clearly, but doesn't repeat longer sentences. The product's memory also seemed to malfunction to constant talking. Therefore, if the child is a speaker, he's not going to find this toy too exciting in the long term. It surely does make for a great decoration in a child's room.

I was skeptical about ordering this for my 2yr old granddaughter after reading some of the reviews about how the parents liked it but the children didn't - I am so happy I decided to take the chance. When I received it, I took it out of the box and put some batteries in it immediately to try it out - I thought it was Awesome! It repeated everything I said in it's little hamster voice! So I wrapped it up and gave it to my granddaughter for her birthday. When she opened it, she liked that it was a fuzzy little creature but she didn't realize what it would do - so we (the adults) had to demonstrate - she was AMAZED! She quickly took it from us and started telling it all of her secrets and it would, dutifully, repeat them back to her - she was overjoyed and just kept on talking, it was soooo funny. She totally loved having a little buddy that could speak her language! She carried it around everywhere until we were able to sneak it from her and turn it off for a while, LOL. I am very pleased with this purchase - with one comment, a volume control would be nice (it only has one volume level). If you are 'on the fence' I definitely recommend this toy, it was great fun for all of us!

Got it. Put batteries in. Worked but loud. Couldn’t really understand what it said. Gave it to friend and nothing. Not a peep or gurgle. It worked for all of 2 minutes. Piece of junk. Not worth the money!

Over all this little guy is pretty cool. My two main issues is that it is very loud, and very sensitive to sound. I bought this for my three-month-old son and it was so loud that it scared him. Also unless you have the room very quiet it will pick up every sound from the TV, radio etc. I was able to remove the cover so that I could place some tissue paper over the speaker which helped a lot. Other than that it’s really fun to play with my three-year-old really loves it.

I have a very talkative cat, Bella. She will fuss at me, meowing and purring until I meow back at her. I saw this on a posting with another vocal cat, noted the physical characteristics of the toy and thought this item matched well. It came today and worked as soon as I added the batteries. She had a field day with it, pushing it around and meowing at it. I will note that it seems to make scratchy weird sounds if you move it, but if you leave it alone and talk (or meow) it works really well. The scratchy sounds intrigue Bella so that works for us. All in all a great cat toy for the price. It is also really cute. Hope it lasts awhile.
