The worst thing about these is that they are very flimsy and jam up the stapler a lot. I have a very sturdy stapler that I've never had issues with, but it does not process these little staples very well. They are thinner than any staples I have ever seen. Usually, 2-3 staples try to push through the machine at a time, which, of course, creates a big mess. When I do succeed in getting only one staple to process through the machine at a time, it usually just bounces off of the paper, crushing in on itself. They are very thin, and won't ever punch through more than three pages at a time. I tried piercing four pages, and I was never successful. When I went down to three pages, I was able to get through perhaps 20% of the time, with the unsuccessful times being a result of either a staple jam or a crushed staple not piercing the paper.Upon arrival, these appeared to be intact in their box-long staple columns. But, as soon as I pulled a column out of the box, it crumbled in my hand into 2-3 centimeter long blocks of staples. Having little blocks instead of long columns definitely compounds the staple-jam issues, as the beginning and end of each block is almost always an immediate jam.These are a very beautiful dark purple color. They are only painted one side, though, not completely colored. When you actually succeed in stapling one of these into a piece of paper, the corners where the staple bends over serve as a breaking-point where the paint starts to chip off. Every time, you will see the silver of the underneath-coloring shining through at the corners, and it will eventually chip off most of the staple, leaving just a speckling of purple paint left. You can also see the silver if you look at the staple from the side, as the paint is only on the direct top of the staple. Thus, you will not want to use this on anything that needs to look nice, because it does not look nice as purple, and it does not look nice as silver.

These worked fine and are indeed black. I would buy again.

These are great! Staples are just staples, right? Not when you're using them to package items for sale. These staples give just a little something extra to make our packaging look smashing!

Even with all the bad reviews, I somehow thought these would be okay. They arrived, as expected, broken up into hundreds of pieces, maybe thousands, I didn’t count. I didn’t care; I was determined to make them work. I even tried them in 3 (three) different staplers. They completely jammed up each and every one. Still, I didn’t give up... until they also simply disintegrated into pieces in 2 of those staplers. How does a staple break into tiny pieces? In multiple staplers? I think you can see where I’m going here... I returned them, no hassle.

Well, I won't be buying THIS brand again. The rows are completely fallen apart into small bundles of staples, as few as three to ten staples each. I tried to pull out a row and the staples were not attached to each other - not all one row lightly glued together. I partially dumped out the box to see if there was a full or partially full row. Now I have a huge mess of little pink staple clumps that can't even go back in the box because they go every which way. Total waste of money. I'm not really willing to fill my stapler three staples at a time. Thanks anyway, Jam.

They are black and stapled wonderfully
