Q: If I tear out individual pages and file them in various client files will that mess up the system?

That depends. First, you need to write your notes in the book and record the audio. Second, you need to be using one notebook and not switch notebooks or the Livescrive pen will not be able to find the data. Third, you can do a test on a few pages before actually recording and filing the sheets. (It helps to label each sheet to know which notebook number it corresponds to...)

Q: Lots of bad reviews is it as good as people say?

No I had a lot of problems. I wish I could get my money back. I spend money on something that did work well. An made things worst off.

Q: Can i use felt tip markers after using the pen as a note taking aid or will the pen not read correctly?

I never tried using a felt tip marker over the original pen ink, but when my ink ran out, and I used a regular pen over it it still read fine on the livescribe desktop. Also when I would want to go back on the notebook and hear the notes it worked fine.
