Probably should pass this one up. No bargain if you spend twice as much time fixing the feed errors.
5 minutes in...feed failure. Took it apart, and the string guides fell out. Replaced, same thing again.I have 2 Echo trimmers and their OEM heads lasted nearly 10 years. The parting lines are overmolded, excess untrimmed plastic, sloppy guides that allow the trimmer string to work out and get sucked back into the head. 6-7 feed bumps and the bump base was chewed up like it had been in use for years. Spent 3 hours trying to fix it...threw it back in the box, tossed it in a corner. Going to go to the Echo dealer and get a new one.

OEM perfect fit.
Didn't need the whole head but didn't want to buy just the inner string attachment. Easy to install but need to watch YouTube video, trick to remove & attach new piece.

Excellent replacement for OEM Echo head
I was skeptical to try this trimmer head given the low price but after receiving it and checking it over, I would say it's built as well as the original. Came with a short length of useless round cord, turfed that and loaded the usual and we're back in business.

Not an ECHO Speed Feed 400 !
Title says it is an ECHO SPEED FEED 400 but this is not true. Item is a no name cheap duplicate of old version of the OEM item. Buyer beware.

SPEED FEED IS A TIME SAVER
QUICK LOADING OF STRING IS A GAME CHANGER....NO LONGER HAVE TO STRUGGLE STRING TO TAKE APART THE HEAD TO WIND ON STRING. MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

the finishing needs to be upgraded. i had to take a little sandpaper to remove plastic burrs so it would snap together
