Delicious
These Brazil nuts were so fresh. I was excited to find this larger bag of fresh nuts because our grocery store only had small containers and ran out frequently. We keep fresh, raw nuts on the bar for snacking throughout the day. These Brazil nuts make a welcome addition to our selection of snacks.

pair these with medjool dates for a quick energy boosting snack
Excellent bag of brazil nuts. Perfect! YUM! I dont often find them in store, so I came here to see what I could find. I am quite pleased with this purchase and will certainly buy again. I love the crisp light crunch of a brazil nut. I have this thing where I take a medjool date, remove the pit, then slide in a brazil nut. Oh my, it is like having a piece of candy. The taste and texture is perfection. It takes care of my sweet tooth and it also gives me a little energy. The nuts come in a pressure zip bag. I keep some of each in air tight containers, and just grab a couple of each for whenever I need it. The rest I store in the fridge.I buy these medjool dates: www.amazon.com/dp/B08BH6NBN8

These Are Well Packaged, Good Brazil Nuts
The package is huge and they last me about 3 months. I eat one Brazil nut a day for the Selenium. This is the best bang for my buck out of any place I've ever purchased nuts before, bulk at the health food store included. They are always fresh and never chewy or stale tasting. For the most part, they are medium sized to small. I get a few large nuts in each bag, but that's OK with me. These nuts are the same size as the ones I was purchasing at the health food store.

Store them inside the Freezer
I eat about 9 Brazil nuts a day, it takes me about 2.5 months to eat the whole 3lb bag. I am on my 4th bag; the first two bags I stored them in the refrigerator door; the third bag I kept outside of the refrigerator; all three bags were good when I opened them, they tasted good, dry and crunchy; by the time I got to the bottom of the bag, they became wet ,soft and chewy (rancid with green mold). To prevent the 4th bag form going from good to bad, I put it in inside the freezer before opening it, I am now taking it out of the freezer for a brief amount of time to remove 9 nuts, then quickly put it back in the freezer; that should keep them from going bad. Remember that there are no preservatives on these nuts.I am on my 5th bag, the 4th bag was good to the very bottom; the bag needs to be kept in the freezer!!!I stay to the Vegan side of being a vegetarian; I find all types of nuts that are not rotten DELICIOUS!!! These Brazil Nuts came in in a strong resealable bag. I had difficulty not eating a lot of them; it is best not to try eating them when your stomach is empty; best to eat them after eating other foods first. There is danger in eating too manyBrazil nuts:Brazil nuts (especially the ones grown in Brazil) grow on trees with deep roots, which reach down to soil high in natural radium, a source of radiation. The roots absorb the radium, which then makes its way to the nuts. As a result, the radium levels of Brazil nuts can be 1000 times what you’d see in other foods.Six to eight nuts fulfill 777 percent of your daily selenium needs. Selenium can be toxic in high amounts; too much can lead to hair loss, brittleness or loss of nails, dermatitis, neurological abnormalities. Symptoms of chronic selenium overdose are a metallic taste in the mouth, and a garlic scent on the breath. A selenium overdose can cause skin lesions and nervous system abnormalities. In severe cases, selenium toxicity can cause tremors, kidney failure, cardiac failure, respiratory distress or even death.Otherwise Brazil nuts are a great nutritional food. Be aware of the fact that other foods can can contain a substantial amount of selenium depending on the soil that they are grown in. Be careful about your daily intake of selenium.
